Hi guys i know this has probably been covered a lot but i can't get the answers i'm looking for in the search function!

can someone describe how the car feels if your bushes need replaced? i want to be able to diagnose this myself if it needs done.

my cars done 50k miles and has recently been serviced by BMW about 500 miles ago and has a full BMW service history; will these ever have been changed by bmw in the service?

sorry for another noobie question

Oddly my car was in for service yesterday and they claim that at least some of my bushes are 'shot'...

funny thing is Ive not noticed any dodgy handling characteristics at all :?

Going for a second opinion tomorrow though...

Im at about 47800 miles...

i think i might get the car to my local garage to get their opinion, all seems fine but peace of mind is priceless especially since ive only had the car 10 hours :D

cheers for the reply gannet

How come you have raised this up? Do you have a felling your bushes need changing? if so, why?

Funny that some1 else has brt this up,as just the other week i felt my 3.0 z wasnt as sharp turnig into bends/corners,etc,as it has always been(in past 3yrs)
so i thought it mt be suspension bushes/track rod ends,etc/but i understand that bmw's in general have alot of suspns bushes, etc. so where to start??

The guy who fitted my tyres demonstrated the bushings were on the way out by the play in the front wheel.

The wheel could be rotated slightly without the car moving - was this just BS or a useful check?

Does it look like this:

at a quoted cost of 331.74... which if it includes an alignment maybe a good price?

Thats what i had replaced Gannet, part 8 rear eye bushes.

As said, once up on a ramp you should be able to 'play' the front wheels around a bit mostly back and forth.

I also had a slight clunking feeling when going over rough ground or up and down a small kerb say.

Im sure mine only came to 130 supply and fitted. And you could see how bad they were visually once of the car. Feels much tighter now.
