Hello all,

Got a 2007 E85 3.0Si on stock M Sport shocks and H&R springs (bought it this way). It grinds on the odd speed hump, making expensive sounding noises. I think I have two options:

  • Keep the H&R and go with Koni Sport replacement shocks

  • Sell the springs and go Bilstein B12 Pro Kit dampers and Eibach Springs

Those with either set up have any thoughts...?

Many thanks

I’ve got the B12 Pro kit on my Alpina and have had it 6 years with no problems.

It’s high enough to clear the average speed bump, corners like it’s on rails and looks great at 30-40mm below stock but not at all uncomfortable.

Mine isn’t an everyday car so maybe I’d think differently if it was but I’d have absolutely no hesitation as a weekender.

Thanks Number 5, appreciate that. Feedback on the B12 kit seems to be either ...

A) Transforms the car and way better than stock
B) Bone shaking and hard to live with, go for stock

!!! So not sure which route to go! I don't mind firm as long as its not ridiculous. It's not a daily driver

I'm running a B12 setup with 18's rims & non runflats, and i find it much better then the M sport setup. Great on the open road and OK in town but you need to avoid the potholes.
I dont have poly bushes, so i think that can make a difference, i also tried a set of 19's and that made it harsh local town roads.

Would recommend replacing with new OE M sport shocks and springs (if you’re not bothered about ride height).

However, if you want the lows, combined with compliance then look into coilovers by the likes of KW.
