Suspect my GM5 has failed again

As per the title, I had my GM5 sent away to one of the eBay repairers in early 2021, received back, fitted problems resolved

All remained okay until around 3 weeks ago. I suspect it may now require the repair again.
Has anyone had a failure in such a short period of time?

Currently my remote central locking works as it should 50% of the time. When using the key in the door lock this sometimes works as it should. The remaining times the door pin does not fully raise and the alarm sounds when I open the door. Alarm occasionally sounds when using the key in the boot lock.
No other GM5 related issues I believe. Window regulator mechanism replaced a couple of months ago but I cannot see that being related.

Initially suspected a failing key fob battery, however it can work fine for many days in a row

Any thoughts or suggestions please?

How much did it cost to repair?
There are two types; star 5 and star 12. You might be better off replacing it with a second hand unit. They weren’t exclusive to the z4 so they’re not extortionately priced.

Around £40 if I recall correctly.

Also noticed that the rear lights do not always flash when unlocking with the remote

Any further thoughts before I send the GM5 away for testing/refurb?
