Drove down to East Horsley near Guildford this morning to test drive an 06 plate blue Z4MC. Been at the dealer since last Oct/Nov and was traded in for an Audi S3. Very clean and had a stubby! Anyone's ex pride and joy on here?

Was first owned by BMW as what I can only presume was a show/press car as the next owner took deliver only a year later and on very low mileage. Spec is fairly standard, i.e. nothing extreme such as uprated hifi or nav.

EDIT: Forgot to mention actually; it did have carbon leather interior.

Well, it has PDC and a stubby, what more do you want :D

Just hope it is cheaper then a fully loaded one, and by quite a margin as it might be a challenge to sell it otherwise later on.

Mileage?

A search in the dealer network also throws up a similar spec by the looks of it but 2 years younger for just over £19k with 30k miles.

I would rather stretch 3k to get a 2 year younger car though.

Just over 45k miles. Agree, for an extra £3k you'll get a lot more car. I'll take a look on the dealer network; think this one is probably technically the right price but not in terms of depreciation.

Aren't all of those Yx06 ones press cars originally? I seem to remember reading it somewhere...

Working opposite BMW UK, as I do, highlights that most/all their management cars are YF prefixed, suggesting that it could have been one of those and not necessarily a press car. Yes, most of their cars are 520D tourings on 19" wheels, but I've seen an E89 in Atacama Yellow, plenty of M3s, the new 650i Cab in champagne and best of all the new 1 series M Coupe driving in there the other day, and that was on a YF prefix too. It also looked damned fine, but that's another story. And yes I know the last two aren't officially launched yet.

Meanwhile not all coupes have sat nav, but it will remain forever a bone of contention when trying to sell one without, unfortunately. While all this "how many coupes vs roadsters" discussion that is going on elsewhere is very interesting what I'd really like to see is a "how many coupes don't have sat nav" thread so we can set the expectations of the potential purchasers that, say, 200 of them are going to be disappointed.

Haha, I grew up about 20 yards from where you almost certainly looked at that M!

My parent's place is just around the corner from the Total garage. :)

Interesting. I was under the impression many Z4M purchasers aren't too fussed about finding one with nav, but that was top of my list. BMW AUC cars differ hugely in price for Z4MCs with and wthout nav: when I started looking in December the difference was between £3-5k which is just crazy. The nav is pretty pants in all honesty, but it's better than nothing and the screen is useful for the OBC, radio, telephone and most importantly the Intravee kit to display the iPod. I've just bought this bit of kit:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130500683242&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

which allows my iPhone 3Gs to charge via the Intravee so on longer journeys I'll mount the phone to the screen to use the TomTom app for proper satnav

Probably a 70/30 split in favour of satnav, but plenty (like me) who deliberately went for a car without it

Sorry dumb question: Whats a stubby???
a smaller aerial to replace the R/C style standard fit item...
OH! I feel a bit less stuupidd, thanks.
People worry about those? :o
Stereo in all Beemers are pants anyway. I had the uprated one in the 540 and its still nowhere near as good as the one in my porkly Golf 4 pot oil burner. AND its standard :o
