I went to the Parrott inn yesterday.. it was 11:10pm and the guy at the bar was so grumpy! they offered and then refused to pour a glass of coke so I walked out otherwise I was going to be v rude. I then saw a shooting star from the carpark. theres no light pollution there; looms awesome at night. we hit hindhead tunnel after. was epic.
anyway. I may join tgis one as the a3 is my playground and 5mins away. woooop!

@weatherSitu: I was on the A3 yday heading to N.Ldn and lost traction completely at the back doing 50mph. the road was soaking wet.. so if its like that on 25th it'll look like more of an ice rink. I do have the worst set of RFT on though.. and they're just abt road legal. it wasn't fun though... holding the wheel sideways right to go round a left bend isn't cool! it'll be icy if anything though..
@time: 7:30's freakin early. I got in from my drive at 3am this morning. is mornings/lunch the convention for meetings and drives? I head out at 10pm on Fri and 9pm on Sat for my drives. by 12/1am its me myself and I on the roads.
@meet: so how do we decide what group I'm going in? I'm going from SW London/Kingston-area onto A3.. so 15/20m from Guildford.

Mornings on Sundays or sometimes Saturdays is the convention, sometimes into the afternoon. Driving on empty roads late at night on a Saturday is fine, but the conditions could be worse at this time of year and many have families to get back to, as well as stuff to do on the Sunday. Also, all I'd see are tail lights and headlights, on roads I don't know in the dark 
Ruby almost has the route sorted - convention is to PM it to everyone involved rather than post (and discuss) it publicly. The end point needs sorted so we have a place to stop, eat / drink / chat. Possibly also a mid-point break.
As for start time, looks like it will be a reasonably early one, but Ruby is skipper so she can decide that

looking fwd to it. will confirm for sure later in the week and remove the ? from my name when I know. depends on work entirely. I can do early.. um up at 4:50 most days anyway but thought it was early for a drive. I guess not though.
youve a gd point about the dark.. I drive with 1 friend on my evening runs who has a 350z so I see him zoom by and we play cat n mouse on the empty A roads. would be a bit messy with 20.. or even 10 cars all doing the same at night.
