Surrey Meet 2016

A spring meet would be ideal if we can get it sorted in time. z4kev do you fancy taking the lead on this?

What about some of that route we did back in 2008 mark. I have the TomTom file still if you want it.

No, the first one where sixspeed attended. More Hampshire based I would have said. I'll send you the route later.

The Peppermint routes were amazing around the Fleet area. 6am starts to avoid the viewing 'public'

I'd prefer a drive and a stop off at the end for a bite to eat

I drove a nice road around Alton area yesterday I'll try and did the round name but was a good fast road with some nice bends etc

A339 between Alton and Basingstoke is a good road, if you can avoid the traffic. A well know biker route, known for its sweeping bends.

That was the one, I drove that on Sunday mega early doors when it was quiet and it was a great road :)

Agreed. Would like an early start, but not too early otherwise people won't travel to attend it! Maybe 7-8am.

That was where we met just off the A3 wasn't it before heading Midhurst/Petworth bound? Yeah could be an idea...

+1 for the A339. It's part of my daily commute and a great drive. For a full run out you can follow it South on the A32 towards Loomies/West Meon Hut.
Takes you from the A31 at Alton to near J6 of the M3 at Basingstoke, so it is more of a Hampshire thing, but worth the drive if you're close!

As for stopping points, there is The Departure Lounge Cafe on the 339 itself.

Your memory is better than mine - but I'll be up for something also. Car is in having brakes and suspension overhauled but should be back mid-Feb, so I'll be good for a spring meet!

Edited. I'll PM the route instead but it's based in the same area you guys are talking about. I'm keen.

Can I second Newlands Corner, used to meet there every month in my Lotus. Gets a number of car clubs/bikes and always plently of people wanting to look at cars on a Sunday.
I live in West Sussex but it a lovely drive there - just outside Guildford, highly recommended.
Dates ?????

Agree with all above about Newlands Corner.

Maybe a meet up without a drive out would be the best option at the moment?

If enough Zed's turned up (weather!) I'm sure we could all have a good old chin-wag over a coffee/burger or two.
Nice place to get the camera clicking as well.

Date?......Late March early April?.......avoiding the Easter weekend of course.

Start time........From 09:30 onwards..........??

Hi Kev
There seem enough of us to make a meet at Newlands viable. This thread looks like it is covering two different ideas so I will give it some thought and post up a separate thread about Newlands.

room for ds3?

Problem with surrey is the speed limits everywhere :headbang:

newlands corner is great meeting place though - I personally don't know many of the roads from out of there though...
