Surrey Car Meet at the Black Swan, Ockham - Sunday 9 July

The Black Swan pub will be having their monthly classic car and bike meet that we often tag along to next Sunday so I thought I would mention it for anyone interested.

This is an outdoor venue so weather plays a big part, although the current forecast is looking good so there should be a wide variety of cars to look at. Hopefully the field will still be fairly dry so there shouldn't be any need to turn up before 8am to get on the hardstanding!

Full details are The Black Swan, Old Lane, Ockham, Surrey. KT11 1NG. Phone: 01932 862364. (Old Lane is a turning off the slip-road onto the Southbound A3 just after J10 of the M25). Catering starts at 08.30 for breakfast, bacon rolls, tea and coffee and entry is free.

In a return to how we used to do it I plan to be at Ockham Bites at 08.00 for a cuppa and bacon butty to avoid the catering queues at the Black Swan. Ockham Bites is on the left just after you turn into Old Lane from the A3 slip-road - postcode is KT11 1NA.

Booo it was absolutely fine! Went along and sun came out

Five Z4s there today. Really liked the Lotus Emira so much car for the money. Loads of people crowded around the GT40 that turned up.

A good turnout and a few Zed4s have mine company a tiny bit of drizzle then roof down.

Me and my mate were followed out by a blue roadster so we had a little convoy going for a bit

Ah my bad a coupe, you were two cars back i couldnt see properly, I was in the black roadster and my mate (wridy on here) was in the silver between us.

Had to creep out quietly as apparently the black swan has had warnings about cars exiting and making noise, ive seen residents standing there filming to catch people making noise to present as evidence!

Yes that’s correct I’m one of the marshals team and I was on road junction as I’m prepared to believe if stupid driving away from the event will ultimately force a closure to it as many venues have suffered for the sake of a few inconsiderent people.

I can totally believe that. Nowadays councils come down pretty hard on establishments. Ace Cafe isnt doing friday nights anymore for exactly that reason as I understand it?
