Surrey/Berks/Hants Meet - Sunday 10 October (Subject to weather)

The Black Swan pub will be having their monthly classic car and bike meet that we usually tag along to on Sunday for anyone who fancies an early drive out in their Z4. For the benefit of anyone who hasn't been before it is very weather dependent as it's an outdoor meet! Plus we usually end up in the field so soggy isn't good.

Full details are The Black Swan, Old Lane, Ockham, Surrey. KT11 1NG. Phone: 01932 862364. (Old Lane is a turning off the slip-road onto the Southbound A3 just after J10 of the M25).

They open at 08.30 for breakfast, bacon rolls, tea and coffee so any time after that works fine.

But we usually meet up at Ockham Bites (KT11 1NA) at the beginning of Old Lane around 08.00 for a coffee, bacon butty, etc. to avoid the potentially long catering queues at the Black Swan! That way we should get to park together at the Black Swan by arriving around 08.30.

If anyone wants to turn up a bit later then just go straight to the Black Swan. Some people start leaving around 10 although others are still arriving, but it's usually getting quiet by 11.30/12.

I was sad to hear you were on your lonesome last time . Unfortunately, Sunday is the only day I get a lie in. If the weather is OK, I’ll try to make the effort this time.

Thanks hopefully you'll make it, but I fully understand the desire for a lie-in the only day it is an option!

We had a good turn-out in August and someone suggested having an exclusive Z4 meet like we used to do at Newlands Corner before they started charging for parking, but September reminded me why I didn't try it!

Maybe it would work in the summer months though now Newlands have suspended parking charges - something to think about for next year anyway.

But I had been there a couple of hours before you arrived. :lol:

The current forecast suggests it should be dry between now and Sunday so hopefully the field won't be too bad.

I saw the Black Swan meet on FB and reminded my to pop on here and see if anyone was going!
However I’m working nights Saturday and will be climbing into bed at 8 sadly! Unless I decide to come for a drive first… that seems safe

Was a good morning with some lovely Zed’s on display everyone. Glad no one seemed to get stuck in the field. Let’s hope for a dry autumn / winter.
