I'll give that a go. PVR's extended warm-up procedures - which I am broadly sticking to Paul :wink: - may have had an impact. Plus the O2 sensor replacement. Worth a shot :thumbsup:

Now fitted... They could do with a slight curve across the plate at the wheel end to sit flush with the underside of the bumper, but they will do the job and look fine. I'll get a pic later.

Once. On Sunday in the wet. Scared me, haven't thought about it since. It's all about feel though, so I'll have a better play in the dry sometime once I'm totally comfortable with the gearbox. Changing gear still requires specific concentration low down so added brutality is something I can live without right now.

Have to say though, I barely needed to change out of 6th on the motorway today which was ace :thumbsup:

Keep playing with your seat. I found it made a huge difference. Took a long time to get it right so that the gear change is sweet!

I find I need to sit slightly closer to the wheel and pedals than I think I do! Getting it right made the gear change night and day difference!
 
I have three settings saved - I tweak one till I'm comfy then save it, then compare to the others, then tweak etc. so far I have a decent position for motorway driving with few gear changes, but a not-quite-right one for driving that requires frequent changes. You're right though, I am loads closer to the steering wheel than I needed to be in my auto. Feels weird :? :)

Don't think he did - I've tried them, fiddly and one side is tighter than the other so I'll bring them Sunday and you can have a look Mr Hutch... Probably incompetence on my part :P

I did not, as if I had, I could no longer claim they were new and sell them for a huge profit :D

Where do get these Fang guards Bing, one of mine has been scuffed in the past which I'm getting the front bumper resprayed sometime soon, and would like to fit them to protect in the future thanks Andy

In the new one I've got enough torque from 50mph upwards in 6th to comfortably and quickly accelerate to whatever cruising speed I desire without being anti-social about it... In my old car the gearbox would kick down in full auto, one or two gears depending on how quickly I wanted to accelerate. I never used manual mode on the motorway, defeats the purpose of having an auto.

Andy - I got them from PVR with the car, at a cost, of course... So he's best to tell you where he got them. I think it was on here, maybe a group buy or someone fabricated them. RPI do scuff plates specifically for the bumper too.
 
Here's a couple of pics... None from underneath I'm afraid. They are not really noticeable, but you can see what I met about them needing a bend :

They also stick out a teeny bit at the rear and in a bit at the front, so I think the holes were not drilled in *quite* the right place. However they simply use existing fittings and they will do the job :thumbsup:

Dunno really - if you're doing a photo shoot and I can make it then that might work. Otherwise you can come collect those grab handle covers you were after sometime. They are lurking somewhere in my garage nicely packed and ready to send :D

Cheers Wa'ya - I think that the fang guards will be about it for now as far as mods go. Mainly because the car pretty much has the ideal spec and wants for nothing, but also because I've spent quite enough just buying it. That said, I bought an iPhone 5 combined aux and charging cable so WB can fulfil his DJing duties when we're out together. Cost me £8 :D
