hmm, I cant help noticing that its not Imola red.... :tumbleweed:

glad you've got an M though now, I am interested in the difference from your 3.0. I didn't imagine the M would be much different. I've never driven a non M Z4.

Cheers Johnny - yeah well, the seats are red lol. Bit of a 'first commute impressions' on the page previous to this

Up at 4.45 every time I go into the office - I am allergic to traffic jams and trains

So, first commute impressions...

I have a funny feeling that Mrs B - and possibly the neighbours - will have something to say about my departure... My garage is directly under the bedroom and it really is bloody noisy cold. Not a lot I can do about that though

They'll get over it Bing.

My 22 year son, has a bedroom directly above our Garage. Boy does he know it, Sunday Morning,if he pisses me off on a Satuday Night. :D

:D

Great drive home, with a wee stop at inkey$ place to say hi. First thing WB said when I walked in was 'are you working from home tomorrow so you can take me to school ? '

Only one wallaby on the way home, still sussing out the driving position though. And I did wake up Mrs B

I still remember hitting the brakes for the first time when I picked up mime .... Easy tiger I thought as I came back to rest in the seat.

My mate who rode shotgun down through the pass of glenshee said I noticed you had the sport button pressed all the way down on the 3.0 and never on the way back in the M.

It's probably at least 50% my lack of smoothness and general excitability, but I thought my 3.0 fuel needle dropped fast :o ...21.5mpg on the computer, still better than my benchmark (Focus ST) so I just going to tape over the needle :P

That needle does move bloody fast. 21.5mpg, you must have been driving it like I was when you were a passenger in mine the other week.

Great to see you Bing. Lovely car and a credit to Paul and his OCD level (in a good way!) of ownership. She sounded lovely on the way out and looks stunning.

Am sure if I look south out my window I can still see your smile from here :)

ZermattV, the brakes happened to me on PVR's drive. I've got a feel for them now - stomped on them when out with WB yesterday just to find out what happens and nearly throttled him on his seat belt... They definitely work

srhutch, I need to reset it as it was on 18-ish when I left PVR's house. I've only driven it really fast in a straight line so far. Weirdly I found myself driving more slowly on the motorway today...

inkey$, likewise, next weekend :driving:

That must have been that Italian tune up that Jembo gave it :D

... or more likely the MOT and O2 :D

I think they are really quite comfortable on the motorway all things considering - and very quiet!!

Re:brakes. I jump routinely in and out of the M, a mini cooper SD and mostly an old Peugeot 206GTI - I have no idea what I'm doing on the brakes. When I'm in the M I over brake and scare myself when I stamp on them, overshoot all the time in the pug (feels like v brakes on a pushbike) and scratch my head totally when I try drive the mini. Haha. Adds to the fun.

You went by Inks place? Could have been a mini meet, only 10 minutes from mine ;)

My car finally looks as it should now, it got two new bumper brackets and headlights this week so it looks fresh, as opposed to old and tired.

Be great to do that photoshoot at some point, nice mix of Bavarian metal all fairly local.

100%!

I'll arrange something shortly, but I'd be up for popping out now if I'm honest as I've washed the car and it's a nice warm evening!

Nice write up Bing. Give it a couple of weeks and add your thoughts. I was amazed at the difference from #69. Having said I'd got the hang of it, I had a "marsupial moment" on Sunday. It does like to remind you that you're only alive because for now it's decided not to chew you up and spit you out :)
