Supersprint Powerloop fitted...pictures - reverting with vid

after running the supersprint race back boxes with x-pipe for a while, despite loving the sound the thing makes when 'you are on it' it was eating away at me that for every day driving it was just too loud!! starting the car up in the morning woke people from all around and you couldn't drive anywhere without people jumping into hedges as you pass scared to death of what was passing them!

so the problem..

put standard exhaust on ..

do i try all the other makes out there .. possibly only to be left with the same problem..

and so on ..

after much thought i decided to call evolve and they came up with the idea of the supersprint 'powerloop' back boxes.

while expensive, they look better with their 80mm chrome tail ends and after having it fitted yesterday and a quick blast round the block last night i can state that sofar .. its alot quieter, absolutely no boom, looks great and i am happy. will revert back after the weekend after a proper drive to see if its loud enough but i suspect that it will be just the right match with the x-pipe!!

the race is awesome but for me (maybe i am getting old) i needed more of a balance

I bought my car used and it also has a supersprint exhaust. I to love it but sometimes feel its just a bit to loud, or maybe I'm getting old.

Looking forward to hearing about your thoughts after the weekend. Perhaps some photos and a video to.

Also how much did it set you back?

Cheers

after a weekend of driving the car nearly 100 miles - happy...

could be slightly louder maybe, (hwoever that might be coming from the race) however i am enjoying hearing the engine once again and not just the exhaust blaring. nice deep growl at lower revs, tiny bit of drone at 2000 rpm but nothing to worry about at all (i suspect that is the x-pipe i have fitted) and when revving it round to the red line it does make a nice noise, very similar to standard but louder. infact i have to say its very similar to the eisenmann i sold to 'booner' after i bought my supersprint race back boxes!

anyway - very happy with it .. still wish i could push a button now and again and go back to race back boxes for when you are in the mood but its very very difficult to have it all .. price .. abt £1350 i think is normal price but always a deal to be had  ...

wondering what race cats and manifold would a) do for the power and b) for the sound ?!?!

Hi Sewell, nice to hear you like the Powerloop!
To answer your questions, the race cat and manifold will increase both sound and performance, but with the powerloop it won't become too loud for daily use, in fact the system has been developed as a whole.
The best solution would be to fit the step-design headers (044001) and the race cats (044902)
With the full system you're looking at 20 Hp more than stock. As you already have the x-pipe and powerloop rear exhausts I think +15/18 hp is a good estimate figure.
The real increase on the whole rev range is very good. This is a M3 E46, stock vs full supersprint exhaust with the same headers and cats I said before:

Torque 383,9 Nm at 4910 rev/min.

Sorry for the intrusion!

Thats a lot of gain through an exhaust system :o

Not meaning to nit pick or anything but the measure in HP is different to Bhp right?

A standard M3 CSL only measures that at the brakes with different cams and a cold air intake and running Alpha N tuning. Have you guys fitted a system to an M3 CSL?

Sorry for the huge delay in my replay, I didn't get the notification.
Norm-Leistung is the crank horspower, in PS/cv/Hp. It's the international value, not the british one.
It's not whp.

We sent many systems worldwide for CSL M3s with great results both on track/road and on the dyno, but as our policy states we only publish dyno chart of tests done in our facility I don't have any to show you.
