Supermarket fuels

Really only use supermarket fuel unless I'm somewhere different to normal and an't.

Have used it everything from a Nissan Micra to a 911 Turbo convertible, never had any issues!
 
Got to say these threads in part amuse me. Fact of the matter is any brand of fuel comes from the same refinery of which I believe the UK now have something like four in total. When I used to deal with the Coryton (Essex) refinery there was a cavalcade of who's who in the distribution game going in and out of the gates. Same fuel different tankers.
Along the way additives are mixed in particular to the brand and I suspect it is here where things can go awry. Stored fuel can also pick up water content from the storage tanks but the raw ingredient comes from the same source(s). Having said all that one of my diesels was run exclusively on Tesco fuel until one day when I put something else in it. The car was transformed and infinitely smoother to drive. Can only assume Tesco's recipe didn't suit that engine.

i use costco ... summat different for the argument :D who cares where it comes from super unleaded was only £115 last time i went
 
I didn't expect much of a response to this TBH. I'll be sticking to BP, Shell and dabble in Tesco Momentum from now on;)

Interesting read Angie4m, although the other vehicle is diesel I didn't know about that until now. It is fussy though, like me.

I should of known better about the garage it was some crappy old Elf type place near Liverpool docks. Never mind life goes on.. :driving:

:D its a big tank....

i had a very interesting conversation with a guy who did the actual official testing of shell optimax diesel a few yrs ago. apparently they found that unlike the petrol variant fuel consumption dropped slightly but the engine did run much smoother.
