SuperDuper Air Rifle...

Purely to illustrate my point regarding cultures - I wonder do you think acceptable to eat dogs?

Edited to remove photo of cute dog.

I've eaten it,,,big deal. Would I kill a dog, if I felt that they threatened my family or property, same as any other animal. People have their own perspectives irregardless of their country  , so don't try to sell that one

I will add that I have eaten just about every domesticated animal there is: cat, dog, horse, goat, etc. I may not have know exactly what it was at the time, but who cares :idunno: Many animals are considered delicacies in different countries, and I have been to a few, and tasted the local fare. Now, please pass the monkey, and continue with your perusing of the forum. :D

Kill it and grill it! :fuelfire:

Although I accept we live in different continents and your culture has had less time to develop civility ....

Ouch! That wasn't a shining example pf civility, but I guess I'm not a cat!

I frequently deter cats and raccoons from my yard with my paintball gun. Tippmann A5 does a real good job of keeping the riff raff out.

Well to be fair, Blacklines did right off the bat say he didn't wish harm to come to cats, then fire-n-ice replied with a death to all cats speech. :D I guess what it comes down to is how close people get with their pet animals. I have a friend that treats her cat like a part of the family, and yet another friend that lets his cat fend on its own when it comes time to eat.

On another note, how would people feel if I shot stray dogs that tip over my trashcan to get some grub?

Thanks Traxxer.

Shooting animals because they're a pest is uncivilized imo but then again I live in the city. My neighbor has a cage trap because he gets a lot of possums in his backyard and one time he left a possum in the cage for over a day and when he called the city to pick em up they gave him the third degree. Something about cruelty towards animals so you can imagine what would happen if he was shooting them :D. Different state different laws I suppose.

If you have a fancy for shooting at things, then shoot at something that can shoot you back. Paintball & airsofting is among my favorite activities. :guns:

What's your version of a pest? My version is cats PISSING on my very expensive aluminum wheels, PISSING on my front door so I have to smell it for weeks because freakin' diesel fuel wont even get rid of the foul odor, dogs chasing my horses potentially causing them to injure themselves which usually involves steep large animal veterinary bills, killing my hens, desecrating the garden I worked so hard all Spring and Summer to grow as well as my flowers that bring beauty and a lovely scent to my outdoors. First and second time they get stung with my bb gun, that usually resolves the problem. Third time's a charm. Guess living in the city affords you the ability to be uneducated regarding the money and hard work that goes into putting those vegetables and meat on your table. How do you think it got there?
I've shot at things that shoot back. Don't bother going there with me. That is irrelevant to this particular subject, which in case you missed it, is my not being responsible for your animals. Many of the vegetables I grow, the eggs my hens lay and the deer I kill gets donated to my local senior citizens meals on wheels and the venison to the homeless in Atlanta - which I pay to have processed. I have a few less fortunate people from my community come onto my property, go into my hay barn and pick up eggs if they need it during shop business hours. They're never greedy and they'll never take the last egg.

There's your civility.

To summarize...
In the city you call animal control.
In the country you are animal control.
:topicclosed: Please...

I started this thread because it was interesting. I did not want it to become:

1. A PETA forum
2. My culture is better than your culture.

etc. etc. etc.

Everybody, please take a step back, count to five and relax. Let's agree to disagree....

I really don't care who I piss off, but this is getting out of hand.

This board is very civilized, fun and more helpful than the other BMW forums, but this thread is like what you see on the other forums.

Let's kill this thread. PLEASE... :topicclosed:

Done. To avoid any more undue disagreement on any matters, best to lock this thread for now.
And quietly unlocked, now that it has calmed down :)
