supercharger kit for z4s23i e89

hello!i have the new z4s23i..i have sent to ess and asked information about a supercharger kit and they told me that they don t have enything for these engines..2,5si and 3,0si..they have kits only for 2,5i and 3,0..for n52 enginew nothing..do you know if there is a kit for this engine??2,5si..

It's because these engines have the valvetronic system. You cannot (at least easily) supercharge a valvetronic engine.
The only thing you can do (at least for the time being) is a reprogram, which will give you max. 15 hp.
I contacted Superchips (Im from Greece too) and they told me they offer an engine remapping for the new E89. The cost is 700 euros.
They also told me that they have done it to the new E89 already.
I asked them to give me the phone number of the owner, but they denied.
Instead I gave them my phone number and now Im waiting for a call from the owner, in order to ask him if it's worth the while.

i have called rotex..and they told me that it can be supercharged the s23i..i called ess tunibg too and theu=y told me that valvetronic engines can be supercharged..but they don t have time now to produce a kompressor kit for the new z4 because they have as a tuning scedule the kompressor kit for the new m3 and m5..what should i do??to ut the rotrex???or reprogramming the ecu?? :?

dont hold your breath this engine (N52 )has been around for a while, I have one in my 2006 Z4, everthing I have read says the valvetronic engines dont lend well to being supercharged.

I doubt many will offer supercharging for these engines as much as the old ones, since the old ones peaked at 230bhp, while the N52 in facelifts was around 270bhp, prices are similar to Alpina (300bhp) and M (340bhp), and the E89 has the 35i option (turbo)...

There really isn't much point now, since there are lots of options and even factory models going up to and beyond 300bhp.

Why not just trade up to a 35i?

On the UK BMW AUC site there are 28 used 35i's up for sale across the country. There are 73 new Z4's in total on the AUC site.

Good to see that they are flying out the showrooms and selling well. :(

That is quite a lot considering it's new, there is a recession on, and most people will not be trading in after just a few months ownership!

Either way, best to get the best one you can buy first, with any car, before you go tinkering, especially when the values get so close.

Ie, supercharger kit + 23i = 35i, but you have 35i levels of kit and uprated brakes/clutch etc etc to go with it.

Of course, if it was a big jump to an M model or something, fine, but in this case there seems no reason to not just get the 3.0 TT version with all the extra kit, better residual performance (since it'd be not modded) etc, than tune up a 23i...!

Personally would NEVER mod the engine of a new car that's in guarantee period.

The risk of not being covered by warranty would just be too high and the money you'd lose on its extra-rapid depreciation would be better spent on trading it up.

If you want to mod a Zed 4 get a much older car thats lost most of its value and upgrade that ...
