Driven lightly, there is minimum change in gas mileage - maybe 1-5% worse due to the additional parasitic drag. Driven hard, and utilizing all that extra power, and you will see a 30-40% drop in gas mileage. The supercharger adds up to 40% more air into the engine, which then requires extra fuel to combust properly.

I have the exact same kit albeit with a swapped in 3.73:1 final drive and I am getting 21.3 mpg.

The installation instructions are ok but miss bits out, also they are for a vortex 2 not a vortex 3, do you have a oil braided hose and do you leave it not connected?

The blower supplied should be internally oiled, do you have brass plugs on top of the casing?, if you do it is internally oiled.

The braided hose is the drain hose for when you change the oil.
I suggest you follow the recommended oil changes as there have been reports of premature failure ,not due to lack of maintenance ,but preventive maintenance is cheap insurance.

BTW make sure the braided hose is pointing down when you install the blower, loosen the banjo bolt and rotate the hose down.I did not and had to remove the bolt the very first time I changed the oil and made a bloody mess

Delay in installation, front end off car to get bottom alternator bolt in. Then new supercharger belt in kit is wrong length!!! VF engineerjng confirmed it should be 6pk2087 not a 6pk2160. New belt should arrive on Thursday!!!

Nice to know we weren't being idiots!

We must have put that belt on about five times and swapped pulleys around at least three. :headbang:

Did they also tell you what that m10x180 bolt we have left over is for?
I was re-running the install through my head yesterday and I seriously can't think where it would ever go!

Yes the 180mm bolt is an alternative for the alternator, they said if the shorter one fits on the bottom then disregard it!!!
