Supercharger has arrived

just ordered vibre technics fast road engine mounts, already have 8 pot ksport big brake kit, might go for coilovers at some stage.

Well i am very excited about reading the progress in the coming weeks Mac. If my car is ready i will be coming to the static show. You can have a poke about mine and we can shoot the breeze as i have a set of coilovers and hopefully soon the LSD. Fingers crossed for S/C next year As for the coilovers i really think they made a big difference i had standard suspension and then rubbish FK springs. Not sure what the difference would be compaired to say eibach or H&R springs??

Can't wait to see a build for this!

On a side note: Jonny, you may be better off with BC racing coilovers, cheaper than FK's and consistently better rep than them too.

Looks neat and very cheap! But cheap usually concerns me when it comes to things like Superchargers/Turbo. Few questions...

Whats the suggested torque increase?
Can the stock clutch handle the extra power?
And how do these types of kit cope without any extra cooling? I know some smaller cars like the lotus dont have any additional cooling but i would have thought with these types of numbers it would be pretty essential.

Wow, very interesting.

Do you know what boost it will run when done?

There does not look to be a MAP sensor with the kit? Does the car already have one and if not, do you know how the system senses boost or does it continue to use the air flow meter only to measure amount of air entering the cylinders?

6 psi of boost and you use the existing map sensor

Up to now I thought the M54 engine did not have a MAP sensor and had an air flow meter only to measure load.

6 psi of boost is likely enough to melt a piston crown if the engine were to run lean for any reason. Perhaps consider taking it to a rolling road expert like Dave Walker once it is running to check it all out.

Congrats and good luck with the install.
I am by no means a mechanic but have worked on cars as a hobby for 30 years, when they say 8-10 hours I would bank on 20-30 hours and expect a few runs to the parts store. I actually had to replace the PVC system on my car as it was deteriorated to the point where it crumbled in my hand when I attempted to take it apart.
You will need to remove the bumper cover as well to gain access to run the intake piping and situate the air filter

I Installed mine last year, added a header, custom 2.5" system and 3.73:1 rear axle this year, car goes like the clappers. :driving:

Hope your tune is the very latest otherwise you may get limp mode in cooler weather.
I had mine retuned by VF after the original tune kept causing the limp mode
All is good now

Cheers Dave

I keep looking at these, closing the browser, have a few beers and look again. One of these days I will actually buy one!

I am watching this with interest

Watching this build with interest and with the credit card already to go......Mrs Hammond isn't looking very pleased about this at the moment tho......

Awe you dancer. Always wanted to do this but short of time and worried my 10 year old motor won't like the resulting forces.

Fantastic project just for the sake of doing it :)

I'd remove the Z4 badge and keep the super charged logo, or move it to where the indicators are.

Keep your rear clean

That badge is a perfect fit for the Z4

Shame their is no FMIC you could sneak in behind the grill... That would look cool!

That's just teasing mate!!! At that price I think I am in! Just sent them an email asking fitting cost, if reasonable I'll have them fit it, if not I'd do it and get them to remap etc.
