Still to this da the sound of the s54 with boost still brings nothing but smiles to a drive!!

i can imagine some will hate this noise!! in a sea of valve controlled fake-ness and quiet turbos, the s54 can really make some nice noises!!
 
Paired with an OEM+ exhaust that would be a nice package; that said my car is struggling to put down standard power with the greasy roads, suspect four year old contisport m3s are going off despite good tread.
 
My first thought was, get some wheels that fit properly....

Sound wise, a little bit much for me.
I actually quite like the stock Z4M sound, in a roadster at least, it's there when you need it are having fun. Having used the car less over the last couple of months, it's actually cemented it's place in my heart as I love even the little trips to he shops, etc.
 
Sounds epic , and I think with the power and speed you can justify every decibel with ESS!! Very jealous of your setup Beedub, although that said I think yours is louder wth the RPIs isn't it ?
 
I rate the technical side of the S54 very highly and its a very successful and award winning engine but I do find the noise it makes very marmite and some adore it but for me it suffers from sounding too tinny and wasp like for me and on its standard exhaust its pretty quiet too.

The only time I actually liked the noise mine made was on cold start up when the noise was bouncing off the garage wall inside.

sounds pretty much the same as this, just alittle deeper without the rasp. i love it personally :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil:
 
I only hear the exhaust mostly there not the engine or intake noise. Give me the CSL induction noise any day of the week thanks.

Would sound better in the flesh as most youtube videos sound too raspy after compression etc.

it sounds every bit as evocative and the motor is not drowned out in the slightest,..... its just over-laid by supercharger noises! anyone with actual experience first hand will tell you that the engine is totally audible still, however once the exhaust setup is on this is overbearing, combined with the added air flow it throws out some serious DBs.

a supercharged s54 any minute of the day for me!! its one of those rare motoring treats!
