Had a guy message me first so you will be second in line if he changes his mind.

Thought all correspondence should be in the thread and not by way of pm.
No worries and no longer wanted.

Cheers pal.

I'll take the gear knobs at the asking price thanks...

My understanding on this forum is that you state your intentions in the thread whether you want something or not.

Just saying your pm'ing someone is meaningless. For all anyone knows a pm could be about buying a bag of liquorice allsorts..

Sending a PM to buy an item or to enquire about it is perfectly acceptable.
However, member ‘Simon 3.0si’ made the first offer so he gets first refusal.

.All discussions including offers, acceptances and refusals should be shown clearly in the thread (not by email or PM). Once a deal is agreed you may use whatever form of external communication you like to finalise payment details etc. We insist on this rule because we need to see all the negotiations to be able to mediate a solution to a dispute

So this means nothing then ?

I stand corrected, thanks for pointing this out.

If my offer is acceptable I'd like the gear knob but if it isn't then I accept it is the sellers prerogative to reject it and hold out for asking price.

Which is who exactly bearing the following in mind as I think I was the one who clearly and opening said I'd pay the full asking price.

I was offered the full asking price which was the person after yourself, sorry.

No problem mate, as I say it's the sellers prerogative so no issue here :)
