Center console wouldn't open - assumed it was a stuck spring so bought an old unit from a fellow member with the aim of replacing, but once I started taking it apart, it wasn't obvious what was wrong.
After some super sleuth work (and a whole heap of fiddly encouraging it out) I discovered that this was stuck open - think it's the actuator for the locking mechanism linked to the central locking (so your cubby locks when you lock the car). Seems it's failed, but managed to swap it over with the one for the spare unit I bought
Has anyone else had one of see fail before? Seems an unlikely part to fail.
