Sadly my Z4 has sold to a forum member before it even made it to the market. I now have a couple of very rare items to be sold to enthusiasts.
Firstly is a fully built differential with Drexler BMW Motorsport LSD and 4.1 final drive gears. This is probably the ultimate LSD, Drexler makes LSD's for F1/WTCC and road cars such as the M3 GTS. Their reliability and efficacy are proven.
This diff was built and run in for 320km as per Drexler instructions and the running in oil removed so it is for all intents and purposes new. Currently it has no oil as per pictures so it can be inspected.
It's been set up for road and track use with a 1.5 way diff so lock up on acceleration and part deceleration so far more effective than a torsen unit which loses lock over bumpy terrain or if you lift a wheel on track. The flanges are a direct fit for an E46/E85 3.0i, I can't comment for the 2.5i or 2.2i.
It also contains the BMW Motorsport 4.1 final drive for more torque to the road with the only downside a lower top speed. The standard 3.07 ratio is geared for over 200 mph and I wouldn't like to see a Z4 at that speed! The 4.1 will still allow over 150 but the in gear times will be significantly better, this would provide an incredible improvement in acceleration.
It also comes with a rear cover ready for an external diff cooler if needed, if however you're using it for road then all you have to do is swap your standard 3.0i finned cover over.
The prices for the different components are as follows -
Drexler - £2500
BMW 4.1 - £800
Casing - £400+
Rear cover - £300
Labour to put the above together - £600+ at JC racing + bearings, oil etc
To buy this diff from BMW motorsport would be £3500+
I'm looking for £2000 including delivery OVNO.
This would be perfect for anyone building a unique/high power/track Z4 as I was.
I'm in no hurry to sell and won't be giving it away. To put it into perspective, a generic unit like an Mfactory is £800 + fitting £600+ and you still have all your old gears casing etc at £1500.
All this needs is oil and swapping over with your standard unit.
I also have a set of genuine Volk TE37 in bronze with Michelin Pilot Super Sport in a very rare BMW fitment which are 500 miles old for rims and tyres which will be posted up as soon as they're off the car.
