So I've been considering to get a hard top every since I've got the z4 7 months ago. Considering how much the price fluctuates according to season I've decided to wait until summer to get it. But hell, titanium silver hardtop are so rare and in such high demand that I can never be fast enough to grab a deal.
So decided on just get another colour and respray it later when I moved back to Malaysia. Hoping to find a dark colour that contrasts well with silver so I won't be embarrassed driving around a car that looked like it was painted by 2 separate definition of silver. Managed to get a racing green off gumtree at the really good bargain but the only downside is the hardtop is in Fordingbridge and I'm in Nottingham.
On Sunday, woke up at 5.30 AM, drive to Sheffield to pick up my girlfriend. Then off for a boring 4 hour drive through the motorways. Reached Fordingbridge at around 11 AM. Met with the family who sold it. They were very nice and the reason they sold the z4 was to get the new z4
When I see the hard top I was shocked at how big the actually thing is
. Luckily I didn't bring the Audi wagon as I'm pretty sure it won't fit in it (TWSS). Got it installed and Oh my, it looked much better than I expected. The hardtop looks almost black from a distance and you will notice the green if you get up close. Personally I think the green gives it a little bit more character.
On the way back, decided to go through the midlands and peak district. I immediately envy every single convertible that went pass as the weather was gorgeous and the road through peak district was amazing. Got home around 8 30 PM.
Anyways here is some pic of a Titanium SIlver E85 with Racing Green Hardtop:
