Well after spending most of the afternoon washing my car I thought I might aswell take some photo's before all my work is undone.
It's been a while since I took any photo's, so there's one or two changes to the car.

They're unedited, I may pretty one or two of them up at some point but I'll do that when things are quiet at work and I have the benifit of a graphics tablet.
There's plenty of them and they're big, so tough if you're internet is slow :P

Wow. That's really looking good Pete. The hardtop works really well on black

You'd best not look on Ebay as there are 2 black hardtops (and a Sterling) on their right now...

Yup, already watching them, you wait 7 months for a black hardtop then two come along at once
Although one is already at more than I paid for mine and still hasn't hit it's reserve, it will be interesting to see what it goes for.

I actualy got an email two days ago from a dealer that was selling a Black Z4 with hardtop back in December, I originally emailed them to see if they wanted to sell the hardtop seperatly. It seems they do now, didn't think they'd take months to get back to me  And just a couple days after having this one resprayed

I'll keep my eye out for some rear lights, but I'm not paying stupid money for them, certainly not dealer prices. They don't seem very common, even rarer than black hardtops :fuelfire: I'd quite like to try one UK and one European one, both with clear inner circles and use a red bulb for the fog light, could be even more tricky getting a pair like that though.

I need to work out whats rattling now, I'm not sure if the soft top is fully folded or not, or if it's something else. It's a very prominent rattle from behind and to the left of my head when driving. I also seem to get a bit of wind flutter from the drivers side window at high speed, kind of irritating on a motorway cruise.

After all this my list of mods to do is finally getting shorter. ZHP gear knob, change the leather gaitors at the same time to black, I already have the two gaitors but still need a black handbrake handle too. Stubby aerial (I don't know why I haven't done this yet) De-tangoed rear lights. Seat leather reconditioned, alloys refurbed (standard silver) Possibly aero side skirts.... Can't think of much else, I want to keep it relativly standard looking.

Looking good - wondermike beat me to the clear rears - done that to mine a while back and makes a big difference :D

Nice pictures. Black on read is an excellent combo. I'm sorry but the hardtop looks terrible in any color IMO. I'll be damned, sunshine in England. :o

Absolutely smashing! The Z4 roadster dressed in a hard shell really, really looks amazing... In fact, if the retractable hard top on the new Z4 looked half as good there'd be twice the accolades. I've only seen one hard-topped Z4 vert here in the states. Seen a few Boxsters and Z3s with em, but Richmond winters aren't generally too harsh.

Good stuff. Great pics! Should submit one as a March gallery contestant.

Thanks guys, black with red does look great when cleaned up. I love my red M seats 8)

It was a rare bit of sunshine, but it was still cold and windy
The sun itself was a pain too, since it was low in the sky, made getting any decent lighting very tricky.

The pics were really just quick snaps before the thing got dirty again, which it did, including bird poop :fuelfire:

I wish photobucket didn't compress photo's so much, I was hoping to tweak the photo's at work but can't bring them in on USB stick (can't go leaking stuff) I'll have to burn the raw files to cd instead
One or two could be entered in the competition but only after a slight photoshop, such as getting rid of that coke bottle I didn't see when taking the photo :headbang:

literaly 20 seconds of photoshop to remove the bottle.

Black looks great with the hardtop, When I made the move to an M, Plan A was to get a blac/red M roadster with black hardtop and I often feel a twinge of regret for going with the coupe. (Just a twinge, though.)
