Can’t comment on how it compares to the book, and i’m no film critic, but I thought it was brilliant and would definately recommend it. No dull moments, it flips between vr and real world seemlessly - even my wife understood what was going on. Lots of money on cgi I guess.

I read the book last year, it was good, but more like 'young adult' type fiction. And to tie this in with the actual theme of this thread, if you're into 80's music, the soundtrack for this film would be good for some driving music in the Zed (but might show how old you are... :lol: )

Still I ordered the "Metallica" CD at the weekend, postie delivered it this morning so it went straight in the car - but sadly not my Z4.
It doesn't work for taking your 96 year old mum to the park with her walker! I found it worked best played as loud as possible, and as Mum lives over 30 miles away plenty of time to crank it up!
