Ask them for the old motor. Sw4nny was asking for a "Goosed" motor the other week. As Tug says, I bet that motor would run again and tidy up, given the right treatment and there could be some value in it for you still.

PS. Ask them for the old relay too - I'd like to see that - and where it comes from...

Going to try this weekend with a couple of more skilled friends to sort it.
As stated before it would be nice to try and fix an old one prior to fitting, then its a quicker fix as the car is my daily.

I have an old motor etc floating around you're welcome to it.

Have you tried to revive it Dan, being a Sparky yourself ?

It spins but i lost my trust in it which is why i just got a replacement one instead. Which i did before the boot re-location craze really kicked off. Makes me think of you finding your Gap tech maybe in a year or so they'll be a thread of someone removing the roof to find the motors in the boot
