HR likely had another meeting after you left and decided that you're clearly senior executive material...

You think he is an a-hole then?

Cheers, Would say though Boss was only on my side as he does not like the guy, But he did also comment that if it had been him he would have decked him after work

now its all over the deckin option would be the cherry on top

Good job, well done  A lot of the guys I know would've caved to the peer pressure and apologised straight away. I guess the thought on impending redundancy mean you didn't give a s**t.

have you been looking around for other work? what do you do exactly?

chrismann85, Basically my job is Scanning call recordings looking for examples of poor and good customer service, Logging complaints recontacting customers to follow up on failed resolutions. We also develop and implement call handling guidelines and monitor outsource partners use of company guidelines. I develop research projects on various aspects of the companys services, Alot of sitting in front of a PC basically. Our company has recently made big changes to the way they try to approach Customer service and in all honesty if everyone followed the rules it would be unlikey anyone would have a complaint, but unfortunatly they don't so you end up with Justifyably pissed off customers, Unfortunatly I only develop these things, its not my job to police them :x Sure you can appreciate that finding in job in this line is not easy, I am considering retraining amongst a few other things.

WLH, Me a senior exec!!! nah I couldn't handle not working for a living

Well looking through all that, it seems you'll be pretty well versed on company policies and procedures. Funnily enough this would be perfect for a job in HR :poke:

In all seriousness, your skills from that particular job role could be transferable to a number of other office jobs.

Good luck in your search

i cant believe it went this far to be honest. i suppose it gives the HR people something to do.

Exactly what my boss said. And I have to agree, I think he was just trying to proove he was a big guy, but it backfired on him.

Glad you got it sorted, you must feel good having taken a senior down a peg or two. You should get your name on Linked in to see if there are any people you know on there, someone might be able to hook you up with a job if you get made redundant. From what you have said you do you could probably work for any of the banks or insurance companies doing similar.

I am surprised that the company is talking about redundancy in front of you for the simple reason that it impacts on moral and it isn't very professional, maybe your company needs a clear out at the top where the problem is rather than picking on the workers. My company usually calls you in to a meeting where you get a briefing or an envelope depending on how many scalps they want.

Well done for sticking with it to what from the reports seems a sensible result.

Your skill set should be in demand. I had exactly the same team, at a leading credit card company doing what you do keeping an eye on a vast army of call centre associates, so it's transferable 'as-is' to any of the large customer facing entities. Think utilities, mobile, etc.

Excellent result for you Nosa - I'm well pleased for you. Good luck in the new job search if it comes to it.

Thanks all,
And thanks for all the future employment suggestions. TBH I'm not 100% sure I want to stay within the same job area, I am considering setting up an Internet Shop on the side and see how it goes and if there is any chance of making a living out of it. Many Moons ago I was selfemployed as a shop keeper / Newsagent and really enjoyed the whole self employed side of it but, the overheads versus the profit margin made it pretty non-viable as a main income so gave up and went back to work for the man. But my thinking now is that there would be no major overheads, (rent, electricity, etc) of running a shop from home, So considering it.
I am thinking of aiming at the detailing market (polishes, waxes etc) as since getting the Zed / Zee I have taken what I would describe as an "enthusiasts" interest in it, so Kinda thinking about doing a detailing course in order to widen my knowledge and my income chances along with running an online shop.

Any thoughts or suggestions in this direction would be very welcome.

Good result M8 always nice to get one over the self righteous brigade.

Make you a deal, you can detail my car to get your eye in into your career and I'll solder your tail lights, sound fair :D .

Good work, Nosa. A cool head (in the meeting at least) prevails.

Reference setting up as a detailer, give Scott a shout see if he has any words of advice - you won't be on the same patch! Also, worth having a chat with people like Dodo Juice to see what it takes to become an affiliate, then you get referrals through their web site - and they do seem to be gaining momentum.

That said, if you're likely to be redundant in a month, I'd first concentrate on the next job, to pay the bills while you hone your detailing skills! As CJ said, your skills are easily transferable, just get a great CV writer to put them into context.
