suggestions on new z4

Hi guys,

Long time no see  It feels like yesterday when I bought my Z4 coupé 6 years ago but the time has come to depart with my beloved car. Unfortunately, at almost 8 years ago, some of the smaller things are staying to fail, nothing major but sticky bonnet hatch, suspension bush with advisory to be replaced soon, blue tooth dropping etc.

Good news is, I've decided to go for another one :D I've just ordered a new car yesterday but I'm having second thoughts about the colour and options. My current died is
28i m sport (they don't do normal anymore). I couldnt justify the running cost of 35is esp with only moderate increase in performance. I am a bit worried about some people reporting disk like fun sound of the engine though. Also, is the handling as bad if you push it? How doors it compare with z4 3.0se coupé (didn't push it to hard but it felt OK to me)?
Black sapphire
Beige leather
Automatic (I read zf8 is decent though not as good as dct)
Comfort pack
M adaptive suspension
Comfort pack
Heated seat
Stock 18" 325 alloy
Service pack

My not-always-better half said she won't be cleaning my beige leather if I scuffed it and reminded me on how I constantly complain about chips on the paint and how visible it is on black paint.
So I might change:
Leather - beige to black (but I find black leather interior a bit dull!) Or possibly coral red.
Paint - black to white (like both mineral and alpine white)
Also thought may be I should go for sat nav - not really for the nav but for on board infor etc but to afford this, I'll have to give up comfort access (I'm determined to stick to budget :? )

What are your thoughts?

I originally ordered black with black and changed to this - So glad I did.

Black is dull ;)

Thanks for the feed back guys. My wife love the deep sea blue and I thought red/white combo looks stunning :D

White or cream is great as long as you are keen on keeping your car looking great. A packet of leather wipes in the glovebox is fine.....

But please don't compare performance of a 28i and a 35iS!! :poke:

Black with walnut interior looks nice (can't remember seeing too many with that combo unlike white with red) and walnut is easier to keep clean than cream.

Haha, i knew I would upset someone with the 35is comment :fuelfire: I think cost performance is an individual thing and for me, 28i makes more sense (having said that, I regretted not getting z4 M coupé last time round  ).

I looked at some pics of walnut leather and it's a little too yellow for me. If it was a little darker, more nutmeg brown, I would have gone for it with mineral white paint!

I agree with colour choice RX, I think walnut looks like runny crap to me, sorry guys, but his true.

I believe they used to do a Cohiba brown with mineral, I loved that!

Good luck with it, also personally M sport looks much better too....

I have the nav and no comfort access. I wouldn't swap to the other way round. Comfort access is a gimmick. I had it on a 3 series. Pointless.

the media pack with nav etc is worth it.

That's funny Zed Five, I love comfort access, ie keyless go.....my SLK doesn't have it, and I still can't get used to putting my key in every time, and I miss it.

I agree on navigation, in any modern car, it's a decent thing to have. I am almost sure that any newish car should have it on. It's like leather, any decent car should have it

I know exactly what you mean I've said the same, but I think it looks quite nice with black or mineral grey.
IMO the red is too orange and needs to be a lot darker, my least liked colour. I'm boring I've had two black interiors

I guess that we are all different :) . The OP suggested that due to cost he may have to choose between the two options. Its not so much just the nav, but the other media, on screen phone, etc etc that the media and comms give. Agree that the nav is decent though.
A world away from the zx spectrum in the E85/86.

Nav would be too slow to react for vantage, that's why they've not bothered with a good one :poke:

I think I'll be forced to change to mineral white + black interior, add per my missus (aka the sensible choice).

Yeah, i can't afford comfort access and nav, I'd love to have both though (and 3l 6 pot engine with dct :D ). I'll def avoid seal and protect, probably book a decent detailer to do the first wax?

I think I'll go for the OEM sat nav, it'll probably give me a better resale value (I noticed the "cheaper" E89 on AUC have no sat nav).

So mineral white with black leather, seems to be sensible option given dirty on leather and contrast of colour. Why does everything start to boil down to sensible, even in a you car, when you stay to approach 40
