Suggestions for acoustic guitars

If you like Martin guitars try Sigma Guitars - they are made by Martin I have a beautiful steel six string it's hard to tell the difference between that and my mates Martin ! I also have a wonderful yamaha nylon strung which cost about £100 ten years ago it's a bit beaten up but a better sounding nylon strung you would be hard pushed to find

Sigma carry the "made by CF Martin & Co" tag in the sound hole

Hope this helps !

The sigmas are pretty good Martin reps and I do like the neck feel, but sound wise had to double my spend before they sounded/felt better than the seagull. The s6 should age reasonably well too... But seems most folks tend to have a few guitars for different woodtones so looks like I'm just starting my collection :)

Tried a handful of guitars this evening and I was really disappointed by the low-mid range martins. The tanglewoods and takamines at the same price range played nicer IMO.

Have you thought about a Turner.

I do own a Taylor 614CE and it is without doubt a stunning instrument. From the first time I tried a Taylor I wanted one and finally got enough reddies together to buy it.

However, for something that I'm not frightened to damage, that plays at 80% of the Taylor for about 20% of the price, the Turner is hard to beat.

My Turner is a 75CE and even looks like the Taylor with the distinctive moustache bridge. I have the action set very low and you get no fret buzz and the intonation is fine. I think I paid about £320 around 6 years ago and it's still going strong and gets a fair bit of use.

Highly recommended.
