SUGGESTION TIME !

i quite like that with the strips removed, makes the rear even more simple. i might have a go, how are they stuck on?

They just pull of. Stuck on with double sided tape. You can stick them back on if you dont like it. Easy mod.

cool, yours looks really nice with the clear light and the Z4 gone actually. im a bit worried if i remove the Z4 it will make my black car look too dark.

i think i have been swung to taking the badges off lol. at the beginning of this post i was all for leaving the rear badge on!

Dark colour without this for your reference (my previous Z):

yeah that does look nice, im going to give it a go. how come you have the white indicators on the rear lights? is that a different set to the normal amber?

I agree that if your going to remove it then it should go in a drawer and nowhere else.
However I dont agree that debadging is right either.
Original is best for me.
The whole debadging thing is a bit Curry's superstore car park on a friday night with undercar neons and the saxo boys for me.
But then we've been down this road before and will never agree!
:D

I'll have you know that debadging was around long before the Saxo brigade. My first car was a Mk1 Escort. During repaint I took the F O R D badges off the bonnet/boot, and the Escort badge. Looked much better for it.

I do agree you can go too far and there is no harm in some badges. The Z4 badge on the boot does look a bit large and ungainly, making the area look to busy. If mine fell off I certainly would not be in a rush to replace it.

the rear of the Z4 has always bothered me in the fact that there is way too much going on, rear park sensors, bmw badge, z4 bagde, rear light strips, red brake light, just too much, in fact its the poorest part of the car in terms of design so removing things like light strips and Z4 badges is welcomed in my opinion.

as for the saxo brigade, not sure how you can compare ' badge removal' to this and mention under car neons in the same sentence !....

my saxo doesnt have under car neons and still possesses all of its badges....

what am I doing wrong :?

better get busy this weekend then!! remember to get neons that flash in funny patterns just to add that extra magic lmao!

ok so just took off my strips on the lights and im lucky i did or i would have lost one, as i was touching it to decide wether to take them off or not the car made its own mind up and dropped it into my hand. one large speed bump and they would have been gone!

looks good so far, iv left the Z4 badge on but i think i will take it off tomorrow and see what it looks like the i will put a pic up.

You removed the French Fry  love them :D

Agree on the back end being to fussy would look so much better with no Z4 Badge and the lock hidden behind the BMW Badge

Re the debadging agreed we will never all agree i just like a clean look no badges no dealer stickers or any thing else other than a tax disc in the windscreen and no adverts or anything else other than my reg on my number plates.

This is the reason i love the interior on my Z4 just plain and simple black and siver matching the car :D

Ah, so someone else who hates dealer stickers! I can never understand how people drive around with them all on - especially the big one that is often right in the line of sight in the rear screen. Arrgghh.

I'm now toying with pulling my Z4 badge off the back after looking/thinking. It is mighty busy back there. Trouble is I don't want the paint under the badge to be darker than the rest. I won't know if it is until I try...

My Niece bought a lovely used Corsa from a Vauxhall Stealers and they had the cheek to have a red sticker on the tailgate with the stealers name on :x a quick blast with a hairdryer soon got rid of that :D

Re removing Z4 badge i found no fading on a 3 year old car but did leave a couple of small pin marks just need to get them wet sanded and polished out not that they notice to a normal person just me

i removed the z4 badge (my car is silver) and you cannot see where it was at all, not bad considering its been on there since october 2003. Just used dental floss than picked off the rest of the adhesive then a quick polish. Job none. Removing the dealer badge tomorrow ! then maybe the french fries ?

I saw a picture someplace of the chrome Z4 logo right between the seats on the panel just above the storage door. It stood out beautifuly against the black. But it may have been a smaller badge than the one off the boot lid. I cant find that pic anywhere online now.
