Subscription TV

Wouldnt (and dont) pay for any of it, I grab amazon and netflix when they offer me a free month and never renew as they are largely garbage, dont have a tv loicence either. I mostly use YouTube and various other free methods of seeing stuff but I have never been a much of a tv consumer. :thumbsup:
 
AS A POOR CIVIL SERVANT TRIPLE LOCK PENSIONER I HAVE TO WATCH EVERY PENNY AND AM RELUCTANT TO GO FOR ANY PAY TV - I DID HAVE SKY ABOUT 30 YEARS AGO BUT GAVE IT THE ELBOW WHEN FREEVIEW CAME IN - I PAY £22 A MONTH TO TALKTALK THAT INCLUDES UNLIMITED CALLS TO LANDLINES AND ALL UK MOBILES , UNLIMITED BROADBAND AND TV CATCH UP / RECORDING - BECAUSE I LIVE IN A VILLAGE WHERE THE INTERNET SPEED IS A MASSIVE 11 MPS MAXIMUM EVEN WITH FIBRE I COMPLAINED TO TALKTALK AND GET MY UNLIMITED CALLS AND TV PACKAGE FOR FREE :)

WE HAVE ACCESS TO ALL THE TV PLAYERS / BOXSETS ETC AND FIND MORE THAN ENOUGH TO WATCH WITHOUT RESORTING TO PAY TV - LOVE THE OLD STUFF AND ARE CURRENTLY PLOUGHING THROUGH ALL EPISODES OF SILENT WITNESS

The pay TV thing isn’t my idea - there are umpteen progs to watch on the HDR - they normally get deleted before they are watched!

But you know how it works :rofl:

To be fair tho, not an eyebrow has been lifted when I talk about a new M40i

Hmmm - know what you mean in a way mate - I've been trying to persuade SWMBO we need a bigger TV - we have an old 42" Plasma Panasonic - I'd like to update it to a Smart 55" Panasonic - unfortunately she is not impressed - considers the one we have is quite adequate and big enough - the bugger just goes on and on and tbf the picture is as good as when it was knew some 13 years ago - been considering dropping a glass of water down the back of the TV - at the end of the day I'm 72 and should be able to say " We're having a new Telly and that's that ! " but when you been married 45 years it's easier to just do as you're told lol
 
Same sort of age and years of marriage and I did just that!
Walked into Richer Sounds and came out with a super 55”Sony Oled a new AV amp and HDR - They price matched so I couldn’t resist.

Thro the years she would have just been happy with TV we had but has always acknowledged that the new kit was an improvement. I have resisted any “I told you so” comments.

A man spends too much time in his box to go without toys at this age!

Don't try to assert yourself, it's a waste of time. I just give up straight away and save a lot of time and grief. :roll:
 
You have to let them think that a new TV etc is their idea or just twist on and on and on (The broken record technique) That usually ends up with oh, just go an get a bloody new TV - then don’t hang a about, Just go out and buy! :thumbsup:
 
This is a picture of me shortly after telling Lynn I would be making all the major decisions in the relationship and to make me a sandwich.
