Hi all, I need to source a rear subframe ASAP. My car is up on the ramps at the garage and the subframe is in worse condition than previously thought (ie, cannot be salvaged).
It's for an e86 3.0si, manual. Any links, guidance etc most appreciated!
Thanks.

Could you salvage one from a Z4 convertible E85 as well as the E86? I would assume you could as they have the same running gear.

Fairly certain all non-M E85/86 and E46 are all the same

Thanks chaps, but I don't think they are the same. The N52 is different to 2.0l models i believe? The part number is certainly different. I've enquired about a couple on ebay but the vendor has said they won't fit my 3.0l. I can't see any 3.0 e85 ones on ebay... if anyone can link me to one that'd be great.

Yep, just the carrier.
I've bought all the subframe/diff bushes.

Not sure why this has been moved to the buy/sell forum thread. Is more an advice/request I guess.

Have a look on realoem.com for parts and part numbers. An invaluable resource. This link should take you to E86 rear carrier diagram and part numbers, superseded etc

Thanks, I'm now almost 100% sure the frame I need is specific to the N52 engine. Which means I'm a bit snookered as there do not appear to be any available in the UK 😔

I've got one in the shed which I was told came off an E86.

What's the part number you want; and where is it stamped on it and I'll check tomorrow.

Just been to the shed.

Paper label is shot. Has some rust in all the normal places but its solid the rust is only on the surface. Was told it was E86 but I believed this would fit my 3.0si E85 - do this up then swap the old one out. This however is marked E85 see photo. I bought a complete back end assembly diff; suspension etc as one big lump.View attachment 2IMG_1335[1].JPG

Harry, you could be a life saver. It needs to be from an N52 engined car, part number: 33306776593
Cheers

I just had a looks on realoem and it looks like that Part Number has been superceded - but the good news is that Facelift 3.0Sis seem to use the same part!

Assuming that's what this one came from. I bought it as a coupe assembly; stripped it and put all the bits on a shelf for later (I guess about five years ago) and never looked too closely at it!

Harry, really appreciate the photos. Hugely interested in this if you are prepared to sell? The only issue being whether it fits the N52 as there's no identifiers on the frame. I'll do some research to see if there's anything obvious that differentiates the N46/M54 frame from the N52 (or if anyone on this forum knows please let me know!)

I'll go and see if there is a code on the diff then look at realoem - if the diff comes back as an E86 (I think the ratio is slightly different from the 3.0si E85) or as a facelift 3.0si then I think its the correct one.

HANG ON!!! just looked at your 'thumb nail' and its an E85 - but your first post says E86 what are we looking for here?

Hi Harry, I'm looking for one to fit an E86 coupe, 3.0.
By thumbnail do you mean my avatar/profile pic? If so that's from some time ago, when I had an e85.

Good thinking re looking at the diff numbers.

OK - this is the only sticker I can find on the diff - few numbers cast into it but only a few digits long. The whole rear assembly is stacked on a shelf above head height as a heap of parts with the diff at the bottom so I can't get it down and roll it around to get a better look without lifting all of it off - the carrier was on the top so easy to do!

Can't find the numbers in realoem though.
