The premiums for young drivers is actually due to the scientific fact that the frontal part of the brain that analyses risk doesn't develop until you are around 24-25.

Plus you don't know the stats for 2011 as above are split EQUALLY between the 40-49 and 50-59 age range - I was told it is heavily weighted.

If you express the figures Finn posted a slightly different way. Not totally correct because we don't have exact numbers for every age between 17 and 79 but it gives a more realistic picture.

A good friend of mine traded his mk1 WRX for a S4, after I pulled out a few car lenghts on it, in my old Mk1 Mondeo 24v Si.

A EVO8 FQ320 Now thats a challenge. or a Nobel 3R or an R8 V8.

In my experience, at...ahem..."normal" motorway speeds the V8 R8 performance is very similar to that of the ///M, certainly in gears 2,3 and 4 anyway... :evil:

Agree totaly, I have regular hoons involving the cars mentioned, and they are all pretty equal. The Nobel can pull away on a fast dry bend it's just so planted and the Evo destroys us all if it's greasy underfoot. Otherwise all appear pretty even from my observations.

A few comments about meets on this thread.

Attending the Midlands Meet everybody's driving was of high standard. A good laid back drive and no hooning. Thoroughly enjoyable day of posing and casual driving (except the 2 second roar under the bridge that had to be done). Maybe some meets are like that but Midlands wasn't.
