Style 230 ”Twist” 19” alloys

I’m pretty certain I’m going to go down to 18” wheels, which means my 19” wheels will be up for sale.

As above, they are 19”, style 230’s 8” fronts and 9” rears. They are ET37 fronts and ET39 rears.

The alloys are in excellent condition, with the only exception being one part looks like it has had a repair done (2-3 inches on the rim) and the paint looks slightly more Matt black than the gloss black. You can only tell up close but.
Previous owner said he had them powder coated a few months before selling. Only other issue is someone used white balancing weights and being black alloys you can obviously see them.

They do have tyres but the fronts are worn on the inside (mot advisory only) but the rears are ok with approx 3mm of tread. There is some cracking on the sidewalls so I would say they are basically scrap tyres.

My question is, what are they worth? I’ve added some pics below.

Sat over the rear wheels in the Z if you were to switch the virtually bald Bridgestones to new 255 35 19 Uniroyal RS3 you would think you had gone to 18inch anyway :wink: they are 9j rear so a perfect fit for arch & arse

Thanks for replying Andy. Is 255/35/19 and 225/40/19 the biggest I can go in terms of sidewall? My mindset is now less about looks and more function!

Do you think I would get away with a spacer on the rears as would like a more flush look?

I wouldn't risk spacers either front or back on those BBS Twist 19s . upping the rear to 255 35 19 will help fill the arch gap & "flush" them up visually .
Fronts ? Majority of the harsh ride comes from the rear & id be wary going 225 40 on the 8j et 37fronts for fear of rubbing , if you must go to a 40 then consider 215 40 19 or 225 35 should be fine if you choose your tyre with comfort in mind . The Uni Rs3s take some beating though i switched from Ps2 19s at weekend to Conti Sport 5 19s (same sizes) & noticed a improved ride staright away .

Cheers Andy, I quite like the chunkier tyre look but I’m thinking more for comfort. I’m hoping it will also lessen the awful tramlining I’m getting with these tyres!

Where’s considered cheapest at the moment? Bought my last set from oponeo

I love the twist wheels but I’m torn what to do as I don’t want to shell out for new 19” tyres and have the same issues! I would rather just bite the bullet and get some nice 18’s with beefy tyres. 8)

They are great looking wheels OP - if they had been silver I might have been tempted (actually it's probably just as well they aren't). :lol:

The car basically had lots of front end parts replaced before I bought it. It tramlines terribly though at speed (maybe due to the old tyres with worn inner edges) and has the same tyres on from before the work was done but is also really crashy over bumps etc

I have a set of standard sized 18s with winter non-RFTs that I will be fitting soon (225/40 fronts and 255/35 rears), but you'd be welcome to try them if you could get to Sandhurst in the next week or two (and have a trolley jack low enough for a Z4)!

They do look good. I am for now at least still on rtf on 108s and was suffering badly with tramlining. Replaced the front rear lower control arm bushes and 4 wheel alignment and is much improved.

My 19’’ twists are away for refurbishment and, in another thread, @mr wilks you mention 245/30/19’s for the rear.

Is that because I’m thinking about dropping the E86 on Eibachs?

If I can get away with a deeper sidewall for even better ride comfort I’d be tempted to do so...

Not ordering tyres for a couple of weeks, so plenty of time to male a decision

You sure i said 245 30 :? i wouldn't run any rear 19s on any Z on 30 profile , 245 35 on a 9j rim / 255 35 on a 9.5j would always be my choice , if you had to go to a 30 just to get it to fit then they are the wrong wheels / offsets for a Z

You sure i said 245 30 :? i wouldn't run any rear 19s on any Z on 30 profile , 245 35 on a 9j rim / 255 35 on a 9.5j would always be my choice , if you had to go to a 30 just to get it to fit then they are the wrong wheels / offsets for a Z

My mistake, you did indeed say ‘35’ but suggested 245 instead of 255

245 does cut down the tyre options though, as less manufacturers make a 245/35/19
