Evening all.

I've been looking at getting the Style 108's on my Z4 refurbed as they're not in a good shape. I found a company in North London called First Aid Wheels (FAW). They offere a service where you can exchange your existing wheels for a set which have already been refurbed. The advantage is the speed of service as they fit them whilst you wait. They currently offer 3 different types of finish;

  • OEM Finish This is exchange service like for like 4 X 18" genuine OEM (Original equipment manufacturer) BBS BMW Z4 Split, 2 piece alloy wheels. They are fully factory refurbished with powder coating in two tone finish, the centre piece done with powder coat in standard BMW silver and the rim done with powder coat chrome silver. It's a very strong durable finish baked in the oven (please note that the rim is not polished finish but painted with powder coat chrome silver) http://www.fawheels.co.uk/exchange.html/bmw/exchange/z4-series/ref.no.107-bmw-z4-4-x-18-style-108-split-alloy-wheels-detail.html

Is the powder coating of the outer rim a better, more durable finish than the diamond cut and lacquer? I'm looking for an OEM look so would ideally go for this option. All 3 options are £432 all incl. fitting, VAT etc.

What are peoples thoughts on thsi service has anybody used them before?

Thanks!

If the £432 includes removing & refitting your current tyres then its a fair deal i would say .
I have offered a similar deal to forum folks for £100 less but i'm in Lancs so not ideal for those south of Birmingham once you factor in fuel & time
You could save a few ££ buying a refurbed set then selling your current wheel's but sometimes convenience has to play a part in the overall cost .
Let us know how things go if you go for it :thumbsup:

Don't reckon there is much difference in cost by the time you bugger about with getting tyres changed, plus the existing ones are not in a great shape. I'll let you know how I get on. The £432 is inclusive of fitting etc.

Can anyone enlighten me as to the pro's & cons of a powder coated outer rim over a diamond cut & lacquered one???

I used them last year, they are really good. The alloys come with a a 2 year paint work guarantee. There is an additional charge of about £10 per wheel is your wheels are buckled.
