Stupid stupid stupid

Having spent the last two weekends tracking down and fixing a coolant leak, my car rewarded me by driving into the gate
Total stupidity, I got out to open the gate and left the car in reverse (it’s an auto), so naturally it did its own thing.
What do you think - can a PDR fix this at reasonable cost or will I be better off getting a replacement boot lid?

You may get away with a dent guy. Access is pretty good but the crease is on the swage line so may be awkward to get back into the right shape.
If not a body shop could pull and skim with filler and paint.

How annoying!

As j3nks says it would be really hard to knock that out as it's right on the swage line which is the strongest bit of the boot lid.

Hopefully PDR might work, but if not it may be cheaper to replace the lid than a bodyshop repair.

Good luck getting it sorted.

That`s a real pain in the a**e literally . Hope you can get it sorted

Oh no is that OBY?

I’d say look for a new one- I think I saw a Maldives breaker recently

No it’s mine :( , OBY is away at the moment otherwise I’d steal his boot lid and pretend I knew nothing about it

That could not have been OBY thankfully , she has rear parking sensors that work, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/255787622746?_ul=GB&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&campid=5338990945&toolid=10001&customid=eb%3Ax%3Avms%3Aeb%3Ap%3A255787622746%3B&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&amdata=enc%3A1VeMvOF5nRlKPeyGheO31FQ24&gad_source=1 https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/2675519795957223/?ref=search&referral_code=null&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp%3A8cff159b-085a-45bf-bc7e-88ab23154b82 https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/972601960907798/?ref=search&referral_code=null&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp%3A8cff159b-085a-45bf-bc7e-88ab23154b82

It could have been worse - at least you weren't between the car and the gate at the point of impact! Although, the damage to the car might have been less, I suppose :P

Good point. A small dent and hurt pride is better than a broken pelvis.
