Stupid Right turns

I've been driving for freakin 16 years. Only at most 2 times did a curb check (usually in a truck). i get the car. and within 1 month scrap the rim something fierce and now my f'n side skirt. WTF. Did i forget how to f'n drive. I'm ready to hire a hitman to murder myself. Well not really, just pissed off. WTF. The skirt is scraped, no dent's. Just huge gouges in it. I'll clean it tommorow and verify just how bad it is. I guess i'll either be getting a replacement or the aero side skirt kit sooner than i thought. I'm fairly certain it's too deep to buff out.
Truth be told I was sleepy and in a hurry...

Hmm looks like $293 for an OEM skirt.
How much for the Aero skirt?
(although i will be calling the dealer tommorow sometime)

were you still sleepy after you fuc@ed up your side skirt....or did you wake up a little :P

you're sitting farther back and lower down than you're used to. I hadn't had my car for more than 15 minutes when i nailed a parking bumper with the front spoiler... Unfortunately, I didn't break it, so no excuse for getting the Breyton front lip.

Yep...
My F150 is way easier to park than the Z.

The Aero sides are about $450 (list) for the pair, primed

I did my right front rim in doing a right turn....

I haven't bothered to fix it because it is a slight cosmetic issue and I am sure I will hit it again :(

Damn that sucks Aebous  . The only thing we can do is use this stuff as a lesson, what's done is done :idunno:. Fix it and move on, but I know it's very frustrating.

I guess your Zed has character now.

Sorry to hear about your scuffle with the curb. I've gotten a few close calls myself, and hope nobody ever has to go through that agony.

hey that sounds like a great reason. That'll be my excuse. Yeah I'll probably get the aero sides. Just have to save up the money. As was said in another post, at least it's still able to be driven. At any rate, ain't much I can do about it except learn from it and move on.

Anyone wanna donate money to the Aeb needs an aerokit fund :D
j/k.

Well I washed the car today, scrubbed that area real real good good. A couple spots where it just took all the paint off (small spots though) and a lot of scratches an whatnot. Probably could just get it repainted and be done, but then I wouldn't get new parts
Anyways, the rim has some significant gouges....It's getting more an more doubtful if it can be repaired easily. I need to acquire a wire brush or something to clean the dirt out of the new crevices.

On a side note....the other side actually. The front skirt has a ripped mount. This is one thing I can say that wasn't caused by me. I noticed the plastics weren't quite lined up.

Oh and I had a passenger, turns out there was rock hanging out on the bottom of the car in between where the bumper ends and uhm the chassis? begins. Nothing serious I just got a smile thinking about it. :tumbleweed:

Oh well like it was said, the car has character now. I can always tell people I was offroading and hit a rock

Ok, I was swerving to avoid someone's puppy and hit an old person?

Ok so I'd take out the old person crack...

Or even better, (not true btw...)a lady friend in the side seat was distracting me

Man that sucks ...

I find it real hard to judge the right side of the car myself. I always tend to err on the side of caution and more than once felt like an idiot for parking with my car foot and half away from the curb. Of course someone is always looking at me as I get back in to move it closer

My car was a lease return and the woman that had it before me had huge problems judging the right side. The wheels were both well curbed and there are scratches on the side view mirror. Deep scratches...

If you ever need a new front bumper, Socalsizzle is ALWAYS looking for one. She has the side skirts as well, but I've not heard stories on her needing to replace those.
