Stupid Question Alert - TV

Hi, apologies in advance if this is a dumb question but if a Z4 has sat-nav, does that also mean it has a tv option that can be activated?

If so, how easy/hard/possible is it to do and would you need to buy any parts?

Or are the satnav and tv completely seperate things?

TV was an £800 option on top of the Nav, requires a tuner. I had it on an E46 M3 and it was pretty useless for reception, even more so now they are switching off the analogue signal (you will need a DAB receiver for it)

Hi,

I retrofitted my TV.. :D

Then removed it when I sold my Z and fitted it to my new one... :D :D

It takes about half an hour. You need the tuner, the cable that connects it to the satnav computer, the cable that connects to the TV aerial, plus an aerial. (plus possible the bracket that bolts the tuner to the rear bulkhead).

I made my aerial out of cable (£2.50) and threadded it through the rubber bootlid seal (genius!) 8) . totally invisible and works perfectly.

I get pretty good reception in most places. Superb in others (Oxford M40 is v good!).

I think that the whole thing cost around £230. A waste of money really, but hey, great for when stuck in traffic. - the textext is useful too.

Rgds.
