Stupid newbie questions

My search for a Z4 still goes on:
But i have a few stupid questions I could do with being answered
I have about 9k to spend but still not sure what to get i was going to buy a 3.0 e85 definitely, but now I've seen a 2.5 face lift Z which i love my stupid question is this:
Is the facelift car worth the extra money?
The 3.0 I've looked at have all been around 7k for a nice car and the 2.5si face lift around 8.5-9k i think there is not that much of a difference in BHP (215 for the 2.5 and 235 for the 3.0 i think ) i do prefer the look of the face lift car but can you de-tango the non-face lift with different lights ?

Hang out for a facelift would be my advice , as you noted the BHP difference isn't that great ,
but if you could get a facelifted 3.0 then 265bhp awaits :driving: great all rounder & unless you are after a low mileage car you should get one for £9k ish ? eg / http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=47073 wow factor in & out

I had a 2.5si prior to my ///M and would easily recommend if your looking for a face lift model. I used to battle with a coupe on many occasion and they couldn't get away.

As mentioned by mr wilks, aside from the miles a great car! :D

The interior is absolutely gorgeous!

I think a well specced older 3.0 is a great car - and they are great value right now, the couple of grand extra for a newer 2.5 SI probably just buys a newer and lower mileage car.

I think a 3.0 SI is worth the stretch and you can find decent examples for £10k ish.

I have a 2.5SI which i love, if i had the money in my hand again though, I might hang on, spend an extra grand or so and get the 3.0 SI with its extra 50hp.....

And - £9k - £9.5k could tempt me out of my 16k miles black SI as I would love a 3.0si
