Stunning z4

Just had a word with Tony at Mstyle.

Apparently 50.00 quid and 3-4 weeks delivery for the fob covers.

I've enquired about any discount being offered for group buys.

Those wheels would be ok if the E89 had decent looking brakes.

Is that just because it's a 20i though? Surely the 6's and T6's have bigger brakes?

A few nice photos there, but not a fan of the wheels, and the rear diffuser looks a bit gaudy for my taste.

Wheels look like total crap and dont suit the car at all, although the 3D Design splitter is very nice  The E89 is not a car that wears external modifications very well because of the sleek body lines. If you want to mod a bimmer get an E92 or E46 and whack some vorsteiner parts on it :)

Guys

Heard back from Tony at mstyle if anyone's interested?

He can drop to 42.50 per fob for a group buy of 5 or more.

I'll post a separate thread later.

We're got 2 names already.

Cheers

£42 for a bit of leather to cover your key? Seriously? £42?? wow...
Why not? The car is what, starts at $50k USD (£30k)? No need to go cheap especially if the cheaper alternative is terrible.

I second that!! I use a Louis Vuitton one, it adds to the effect for me. The car, the key holder, the luggage....

$50k? That's a bargain :P The L6 versions started at €50k($66k) here, the 20i starts at €45k.

Leather key holders?

Brilliant, just wondering why you would want one, is it to stop the key getting dirty? All I can see is that it would drive me mad removing the cover every time I got in the car to start.....and if you have the comfort access wouldn't you keep the key in a safe place about your person :idunno:

As for you Nickm, a Louis Vuitton key holder, really......you big girl you :poke:

Maybe others put their key fobs in their pockets with their house keys and doesn't want it to get scratched.

Maybe others want the cover so that the button doesn't get accidentally get pushed while in the pocket. Before touchscreen phones, remember when people would pocket dial? Same thing could happen here. Again if you have comfort access, less chance of either of those happening.

Maybe others are simply clumsy and drop their keys all the time? These covers will surely protect it from a fall, these keyfobs does cost a lot to replace ($350 USD for the keyfob and an extra $150 to activate).

Maybe others simply like the look? Anything wrong with that? I surely don't see it.

Maybe others have dogs and they hope a cover as such could protect it from being chewed up as such (not my keyfob btw):

And why would it drive you nuts to pull it out of the cover? It slides out so easily with very little force, it is no different than those retractable switchblade type keys in VWs and Lambos. Would that really bother you enough to not buy or drive a Lambo if you could afford one?

I'm just saying, there are plenty of reasons to want a keyfob cover.

If it slides out easily, I question it's level of protection....

Not to mention it looks pretty damn bulky.

Well I did say it slides out easily with little force so you still have to push it out, which is a good thing. The leather being close actually holds it inside the cover unlike the one BMW offers where it is loose and the keyfob swings in and out whenever it wants.

First people complain how it'll be annoying to have to pull the key out of the cover and now that if it easily slides it isn't any kind of protection. And obviously it's going to be slightly bulky, you're adding a layer of leather. Trust me, the BMW cover is bulky as it is as well and people have it so this new option is a better alternative.

I just got my chrome 'Z4' key ring, which I love, but then I am not blessed with a fancy pants keyless fob... I like that ///M one above... But agree with sars on Louis Vitton... Unless you have matching loafers Nick ? Then it makes total sense darling

I'm thinking someone should start a Top Ten Reasons to want a keyfob cover post...

Someone should, you'll never know what others may want the cover. :P
