Stubby - yes or no?

Ours already had one fitted when we purchased the car. No issues with the radio reception so far

stubby is best

Stubby looks best unless you want your p & j to look like a radio controlled car.

Radio reception with my oem stubby is perfect and my reception area isn't very good.

I prefer the look of the original aeriel. Stubby looks odd.

I'm with you. The standard antenna has a nice jaunty look, I think. Don't know what that stubby wants to be when I look at it.

The external aerial is for AM only, FM and DAB antennas are built into the car. So don't worry too much about loss of reception, concentrate on your aesthetic preference. I prefer the stubby coz it looks like a shark fin  , but I've got DAB option so no real functional need anyway

My stubby only really loses reception from local stations when i am about 40 miles away, but i dont care -it looks good! :)

Got mine with the stubby fitted which I do prefer. Would it have bothered me enough to change it? Im not sure but I certainly do prefer it.

stubby is the way... strange thing is if i see a z4 i look to see if it has a stubby as i associate this with this forum

I need a stubby as I use a car cover and the standard aerial will make a hole in it for sure.
Found one on ebay, 6.5 cm long and appears to be for a VW but said to fit E89 Z4. Priced at £7.89 with free delivery. Anyone have one of these ?

i vote yes for the stubby, but even so you can remove the aerial when you fit the coves, i remove my stubby when i fit the cover

I have succum to the stubby, mainly because I can't be bothered to put the whippy on every time I take the cover off. (Or I forget altogether to put it on before I drive away).
