Stubby aerial

Wanted: stubby aerial

I would like the aerial part to unscrew from the base. Let me know what type you have as there are a few different ones.

I can recommend the peugeot/Citroen one, very common choice and only a few quid on ebay. Had the same one on both E85 and E89, looks perfectly OE.

Thanks very much. I didn't know about this. Is there a base part? I would like to unscrew the aerial before covering the car.

This is the genuine BMW one (yes its more money :o ): https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-Genuine-Sports-Rod-Short-Phone-Radio-Aerial-Antenna-83mm-65202296761/172797401262?fits=Car+Make%3ABMW%7CPlat_Gen%3AE89&hash=item283b8718ae:g:WKkAAOSwawVZezRD

But it's boxed so nicely....

It just screws into the existing base that the whippy is in
Brilliant thanks, I didn't realise the whippy one unscrewed. I will have a muck about with it today. Tempted with that dealer one.

+1 for the peugeot/citroen one, worked perfectly fine for me.

dont really think the BMW branding and the fancy presentation box is worth an extra £20 to be honest - the aerial will work just the same.

oh and once you've got the old one off, put a little copper grease on the new one before you screw it in, to stop the threads corroding.
