Stubby Aerial

Evening all

I am looking at the stubby aerial swap for the Z4, but have a couple of questions before I do.

1) is there a specific part that is recommended?

2) does this effect the DAB reception in anyway?

Sorry if the above questions are stupid, but throughout many years of carrying out various modifications to different cars, changing an aerial is a first for me lol.

Best regards

Paul

I bought an original BMW stubby aerial, part number 65202296761. It works fine no issues with reception or anything.

It appears much satisfaction is gain dismissing the stubby antenna for the feral little deviant it obviously is.

What is it with you guys, BMW carefully crafts a work of art, then you start sawing of the aerials/exhausts creating emotional and accoustic distress to the rest of us!!

As a new owner, I must confess that the BMW aerial does look like an afterthought. It could easily have been built into the car, in the windscreen or into the boot lid (like jaguar xk) but I'm not going to change it for the same but smaller. Do they get stolen from the car very often ?

HolyMoly...such heresy...

The whippy was a specific design item, if BMW could hide the other 8 aerials they could have hidden that one..its primarily cosmetic get with it !  :headbang:

Ah but do BMW always get it right? :poke: The standard whippy aerial makes the car look like an RC toy car
