A full on paint correction and the removal of some tiny (but bugging the sh1t out of me) dings. A trip to DingMaster in Swindon beckons come next bonus time. These small war wounds were on the car when I bought it. If I'd been the previous owner I'd have been livid. He had more money than sense and didn't seem to care  . #69 is far better off with me. :)

Stubby looks good

Out of interest, how much does a full paint correction generally cost ? And would it address stone chips, or is that a whole other thread ?

Dingmaster quoted £430 for refurbing all four wheels, removing the minor dings, touch up all paint chips and rotary polish out all the swirls the previous owner put in with his dirty sponge.

I'll need to get it requoted as I had Lepsons do the wheels as it was only a few pounds more for a full bare metal refinish. A work colleagues boyfriend is a professional detailer so I may get him to quote for doing the swirl removal and then get a quartz coating applied to the paint. The car lives outside so I don't mind spending some money to keep it in good nick.

Although Mother in Law has offered free use of her garage. I wonder what she wants...

Prob wants to borrow it when your on holiday :poke:

£430 sounds not bad for all of that - got a few issues with my paintwork doing my head in, and since being on here I see swirls and tiny scratches everywhere :(

Thanks Stuart

£430 seems very reasonable. I was thinking of buying a set of refurbed wheels on here come spring. But they're £550 IIRC.

Would be cheaper to put my car in for a detail and refurb

Adamski - you ditching the 108's? I was thinking of getting mine refurbished in the Spring but it looks a hassle being split rims.

Was going to buy refurbed 108s. A forum member sells refurbished 108s, but I would want chrome finish rims and silver stars which would cost £550 - as it's 2 colours. He does plain silver 108s for £450.

By the sounds of things I could get my existing rims tidied up (inc splitting the rims etc) and treat the car to a detail for less

Have you the member's name so I can PM? Cheers.

There's a thread in the for sale section

Here's a link to Lepsons website. You can get a quote and I can't recommend them highly enough, they did a brilliant job on mine. They found and removed buckles on 3 of them for an additional tenner. The price from Dingmaster was for a "smart repair" which would no doubt have looked fine, but I am now fully confident there's no issue with my wheels. (They'd been used as parking sensors by the previous owner)
