stu...... last week sometime, i read your post on jacking our cars.... you posted a link to a certain "vulcanised" jack pad.... now me being Me, i instantly thought hmmmm i must own one of these, so i promptly placed an order for my super duper jackpad....

fastforward to today..... i arrive back at my house...

my jackpad arrived..... 16gbp has purchased me what appears to be a large bath plug/ oversized BUTT plug.... as i opened the packet i nearly laughed out loud... the smooth looking jack pad with name plaque on the ebay page is nothing like the cheap item i recieved.

im blaming mr stuart truman for tempting me into spending my money.

Stu your in for a great suprise when you open that packet...LOL

if im honest the item LOOKs like it could split during use, its not the quality item i was expecting.

Stu this thing has made my day.

BASTARD!!!!! Lol!!!!

Wish I'd picked up one of these or known about it!!!!

It's a bloody great chunk of vulcanised rubber! (With a badge on of course, it makes all the difference) Didn't you read the ad?

Actually I used it, it's fine, and I figured 16 quid for a rubber one that wouldn't scratch the car if it slips is better than £25 for an Aluminium one :)

you have to read the ad to buy the product ;-)

so ill excuse its pathetic asthetic quality and hope its fine when being used, so no signs of cracking ect ect around the rectangle bit........??? hows it holding up after a few times being used???

If you want a cheaper version, you can buy hocky pucks for less than £2 each and cut the rectangle into the top half using a hacksaw

Wasn't someone hacking apart hockey pucks for this purpose and flogging them on the forum a while back?

+1 I have one exactly the same, no issues, does make a difference and seems to be holding up just fine. Would I recommend it, sure would

+1

I had a hockey player working for me a while back. I got a few pucks off him for free.

OK -I'm up for making my own from a hockey puck.

Had a quick look on eBay for "hockey puck", and there seem to be at least 3 different types - "air hockey", "ice hockey" and "street hockey", as well as plain old "hockey".

As my knowledge of hockey falls somewhat below my knowledge of such things as "diesel engines", "front wheel drive" and "automatic transmissions", can anybody point me at a link to exactly what I need?

Bonus points if you can tell me the dimensions of the rectangle that I need to cut!

I do believe what you want is an ice hockey puck. They are made of 90% synthetic and natural rubber, 10% sulfur and anti-oxidants to make them hard.
