Strut noise? Need help

I noticed that when I go over small bumps it feels like I can feel and hear the bump. I don't know if I have a bad strut or a ball joint. Does any body know how I can tell what is wrong?

Mine was very creaky over bumps until I tightened the nuts on the oem strut ties that span from the suspension towers to the bulkhead. One of the four nuts had a half turn of play in it, and abolishing that cured the creak - worth a try

Please check the tightness of the bolts securing the 2 diagonal struts between the suspension upright and the engine bulhkead.

I was puzzled on hearing a thump in my E85 everytime i reversed out of the driveway. Then the thump can be heard whn oing over speed bumps. It sounded like something was hitting the body especially if one of the front wheel is loaded up.

My mechanic and I went thru everything underneath the car, we tightened all bolts, supension links and engine mount. It was finally traced to just one loose bolt on the strut at the bulkhead.

I had a similar problem last year. Turned out to be the front left shock absorber, which was leaking badly.

This covered the inside of the wheel with a thin layer of oil and dirt, so it was easy to identify.

I made an appointment for tomorrow to have all the struts and ball joints checked, I'll let you guys know what they tell me tomorrow.

Anything thing I noticed today is taft I hear the noise when I turn the sterling wheel right side and sometimes left at low speeds? Can this be a bad ball joint?
