How do you remove the pins
The pins are soft aluminium. I rounded one up while trying to remove them. Get a pair of moulgrips, grab the head of the pin and turn anti clockwise. The thread pitch is quite high so les than a turn and the pins will be out. Jack both front wheels off the floor at the same time, undo the strut top 3 nuts and push the strut tops inboard, tighten the nuts againAllan280 said:Hi

I have finally been able to get a geniuine strut brace and picking up on the subject of fitting from some months back and the "pin" removal or cutting down to install.
What was the purpose of the pin when BMW built the cars and will its removal adversley effect the car ?
