Before noticing this, I noticed the car drove a bit different. It would pick a line and want to drive it, and in order to get it to turn, there would be a very slight resistance in the wheel, but as soon as i pushed over it, it would pick its new line... this is probably why. Are you sure about that? As far as I know replacement rear braces uses the same bracket between strut top and centre of bulkhead. Mine does. The added cross braces bolt to the top of the shock tower.
