Strut bar adjustment

I noticed while under the bonnet today that the two diagonal strut bars allow for some adjustment and that mine appear to be set differently. Does anyone know what if any affect this has on suspension geometry? And should i make them both the same?
Thanks!

Are you sure you don't just mean they are slotted? Seems to me that's so that they fit over the studs at both ends allowing some wiggle/tolerance

Noticed a slight knocking coming from the bulkhead area the other day while driving, had a look at the strut braces where they bolt to the bulkhead to see there had been a bit of movement.
Parked it flat and level and just nipped the nuts up tight as they were slightly loose which stopped the knocking
All I'd say is if you do try to adjust, make sure the car is flat and level.

Make sure you set them with a torque wrench at both ends.
