I have a company car with free fuel/ servicing etc... But i like to drive my Z come rain, snow gales etc.

Its a car enjoy it, lifes too short to admire something which is meant to be driven from a driveway.... If you want to admire a car get a picture of a lambo as your phones wallpaper :p

Drive it to enjoy it - so if the weather is poor and you can't get the roof down or use the performance then it can be frustrating and I can understand not using your Zed. About the only thing keeps my Zed on the drive is heavy rain or ice. Still have a vivid memory of roof down and large snow flakes swirling around the cab one very special day.

Always needing to be cleaned though - my favourite back roads are filthy through the year.

:driving:

A proper trip is one thing, but if cleaning takes an hour then I would not want to take the car for a 30 minute drive to have to spend an hour to get it back to the state it was earlier on ...

Come on, it's a 10-20k modern BMW, not a 500k classic.

I understand wantign to keep them in nice condition, but putting it aside for X months of the year is ridiculous. There are plenty of nice days in the winter to enjoy if you only want to drive it for fun. I just don't get it. You might get knocked down by a bus tomorrow. You can't take them with you.

I personally have mine ready to use all year. I can use the Mrs Citreon C2 for shopping and I use mine whenever I can.

What are you hoping to achieve buy not using it..?? So its gets dirty who cares. It's just a car at the end of the day so you should enjoy it for what it is. Are your hoping that the value is going to start going up. I believe the only way that will happen is if when you buy the car brand new, you seal the car in a vacuum packed bag and store it for at least 25 years. People do actually do that.!!!

Most people have done so many mods to there cars that it would probably put potential buys off.

But I know we all buy these cars for different reasons and drive them in different styles so if a clean car gives you more pleasure than driving it then it's all good

Just a car !!! :poke: No ..... but you are right, just drive it , then clean it

How on earth are you going to keep in practice driving a powerful rwd car if you only drive it on weekends when when the sun is out?! Inclement weather with too much power does wonders for focusing the mind ;)

I drive mine daily come rain or shine, and I love it all the more for it. I get to go on adventures and learn the car every day; I wouldn't change that if you gave me a garage!

Agree,it gives a good warm glow cleaning all the crap off and restoring it back to pristine condition.

Mine's filthy right now, I've not had a chance to wash it for a couple of weeks. But come next weekend it's going to look well spiffy - can't wait :D

I know what you mean. I haven't driven mine for 90 minutes now and have to wait until 07:00 tomorrow before I drive it again. :driving:

@OP Garage queen eh? Feel kinda heart ache for you as once you make the decision to make it your queen....the struggle of keeping it indoors becomes difficult! Just been out for a blast in mine, has been raining all week but a sunny afternoon - was loverly...

Came home at 3.00, this after noon and got the Zed out of it's winter den. A quick 40 miles of bone dry roads and sunshine, :driving: 8) cleaned the break dust of the wheels, then back in the den, :P ready for next time. :D

I do that when its dry and the car is clean. Feels both a bit sad and a bit of a cheat at the same time... I also give the insides and outsides of the exhaust tips a wipe almost every time I put it in the garage

Well i've finally cracked...i managed to hold out for about 7 days.......alot of reasons for and against keeping the car pristine but i reckon life is too short.

Will continue to use and abuse except during periods of frost and snow. :)
