Struggling to find the right E89…. 35is real world MPG?

True, but given the potential issues a 35is can have, Mrs TBs planned use of the car and driving style that would surely be a waste of a 35is?

Unless of course part of your plan was to give it an Italian Tune-up now and again!

Kevin Bird did tell me that the N54 needs to be given a good run on a regular basis. But maybe he was just telling me what I wanted to hear

There will be days when the weather will require the Alpina stays wrapped up dry……. :driving:

Undoubtedly the best bet for her would be a 30i or a remapped N20… it’s finding an msport in a colour she likes with heated seats, iDRIVE and front a rear parking sensors and low enough mileage :headbang:

For £18k you can have our Estoril 20i. Meets all the criteria and is a lovely colour! 24k miles. Manual though! :D

Dryza bone too now!

£18k….. that’s a hefty finders fee on top of what you paid :poke:

You forgot the bit about realistic non covid prices

Yeah, not like the one Pondy just quoted

I’m fairly sure he’s joking about selling anyway :tumbleweed:

If you’re considering a 35is, then fuel consumption is and should be less of a priority for your hard earned. Running costs aren’t that bad though.

To answer your question, I get around 28mpg.

I paid £14k, but it was a swimming pool (and the little M badges were missing from the 326s). Sorted both. And I spent hours 'Gummi-ing' every rubber seal on it. Bargain IMHO! :D

Estoril will look absolutely stunning in your capable cleaning hands Martin! :)

Martin, 28 mpg overall average, as high as 37 on a run and down as low as 12 mpg when out having fun and in a hurry

My manual N52 3 series is averaging 30 mpg so not much difference except it doesn’t drop as low as 12 mpg :D

I don't/didn't have commuting or a lot of sitting in stopped traffic on either of the above

I managed 7 MPG in a 2 litre turbo car while out on a 'forum run' 20 years ago. Petrol was 3 shillings a gallon, mind!

TBH I wouldn't get too hung up on mileage for a 30i as the N52 is pretty bulletproof.

I've had four now, two in E86s and two in 3 Series and my current 330i has done 124K miles but still performs brilliantly. With no commuting they have all averaged over 32mpg, but all manuals.

Thinking about it might a 23i work given there is no need for speed?

Anyway good luck finding one in the right colour with the right spec.

The B48 in my 320i F31 did over 50 mpg average yesterday on a 120 mile trip. All 'A' roads, no motorways. I was well impressed! :)

I'm meant to be selling mine, if a late model minter that's under bmw warranty is in the budget, let's have a chat.

Has all the options & low miles.

Not in a rush, but have a free tesla & cannot drive 2 at once.

Sorry mate but in 2003 we didn't have phones with cameras!
It happened, I remember filling the car twice with petrol going to Cheltenham and back (and I only lived near Oxford)! :o
