Strip back

Cleaned the zed at weekend, currently polished with AG Super resin, Blackhole and finished of with purple haze.
Noticed a small number of swirls a detailer has recommended that i use a DA Polisher with super resin to remove
as the swirls are minimal . My question is what is the best way to remove the existing finishes in order to start again, or
can i use the super resin and DA polisher straight away, or do i wash and clay first??

You need to strip back. Washing with fairy liquid will strip and will be fine to use for this purpose. Always best to clay afterwards and wipe down with IPA as well.

I understand that if you use washing up in a bucket if water it strips off the top layer of wax. There are loads of guides on how best to prep your car. Drive Clean do some fantastic videos describing their cleaning process. Best advice is give your self losds if time and have your car under some form if cover. Best of luck.

Just an FYI... Dish washing liquid will not necessarily strip polymer sealants. It does leave a surfactant residue that will temporarily kill beading to make it appear as the sealant has been stripped.

However, if you are doing any type of machine polishing that will strip your LSP (last step product) - so removal prior becomes unnecessary. This is what "paint cleaners" type products, like SRP, are for - to clean off all the previous "wax" buildup so you can start with a surgically clean surface.

So, you do not need to remove your protection prior to polishing. You may want to do a baggy test (Google term if unsure) to see if your surface is contaminated and requires claying.
